"I always enjoy The Mad Monkfish for dine-in or takeout! They have a great selection of sushi as well as other food options! They have a vegetarian section of their menu which includes vegan items. The place is very busy on the weekends/for dinners so definitely make a reservation if you want to eat during those times. The atmosphere is fun and the decor is unique. But if you are having a more quiet night they do a great job with takeout!"

"Hello! This sushi restaurant has been at this place for at least 15 years (I also believe much more than that). I started eating here a long time ago, we say two years ago. I usually have miso soup, small house salad, lobster, spicy crispy tuna reel, rainbow, California roll, etc. Food is really good, classic, authentic, but the restaurant needs a little updated. Looks like a nice restaurant from the late 90s, which is not bad, but it needs a touch of today. Now they improve an outdoor seating of just a few tables with plants and new floors. You passed the test of time. Congratulations!!!"

"Made reservations for 7pm, got there early, they did not check for reservations for a table instead asked if we wanted to sit at the bar. Ordered beer and came within 5 min, then placed 4 dishes of sushi and waited almost 45 min to arrive. The 2 tables on each side came in after us and had larger orders and 2 extra people yet were mostly done eating when I got up to ask what happened to our order. Since this was our first date, it was a little embarassing expecting more professionalism. I would come back, but not immediately since the food was well prepared. We actually decided to go somewhere else for dessert in fear of waiting again."

"I need to be better over time. I was in this place a handful of times, a few years ago the food, decor, wait staff, etc... were moderate, not bad, but not great. About a week ago I went with two other people and the quality of everything here seemed to have occurred a few notches, you think we were at 3:30 on a Wednesday afternoon. We ordered a pork drunk noodle, eel sushi roll, tuna sushi roll as well as the yellow mango curry with chicken lunch special, everything was excellent. Not only were the tasters on the money, but everything was prepared and presented well, i.e. not overcooked, sloppy looking etc... I am sure there is a fair amount of msg and fat in almost all dishes, how is the same for almost any restaurant, but hey the flavors were danced on our pallets, and how else can you make food taste so good? But I'd stay away from everything that's fried here, they haven't really got it. All the last time I went there, gave me a reason to go back, hopefully they can stay at the high level that I now expect they to stay."

"Food was great service was timely. Outside construction going on so our outdoor plans moved indoors. The waiter was efficient and timely w/food arrival but not very communicative or friendly. Frequent water and drinks refills were taken care of quickly. Good service, surroundings need work (ceiling had paint/patch work being done). "Delicious!! Waitress is so on top of everything! Food came fresh and quick. She checks in with you and is super friendly!! Tempura is the bomb, chicken teriyaki is great and their salad dressing is the BEST!! You must try the spicy karage(appetizer)... it's chicken that is slightly sweet and slightly spicy. "Service is embarrassingly bad. There were only 3 tables full when we arrived. It took the CLOWN server 10mins to come to our table to ask us what drinks we wanted. No menu. He just walked off. He kept looking at our table but otherwise ignoring us. 20mins later he came back for our orders. Eventually one table left so only two other tables had people. This slow, incompetent, BURDEN to society still somehow managed to waste 15mins before coming to our table for a refill. How??? There are only 5 or 6 other customers in the entire restaurant. I'm almost impressed."

"This was my second time at Ukai and the sushi was just as good if not better! With so many rolls to choose from, there’s plenty of options for everyone here. For appetizers, we got the Crab Rangoon and Takoyaki. We love the crab rangoons here, and the Takoyaki was good too just not our personal favorite. For sushi rolls we got the Spider, Green Dragon, and Spicy Scallop. All three rolls were fresh, flavorful, and unique. Even the Spicy Scallop Roll, the most “basic” of the rolls, was delicious and the scallop was so soft. My favorite of the three was the Green Dragon. Besides the food, the inside of the restaurant is beautifully designed and welcoming. The staff are very friendly and quick. I would highly recommend Ukai for fresh and delicious sushi!"
