"Let me start with I rarely if ever leave bad reviews. And my only hope is that they take some suggestions away to make this a mire unique and refined menu. We were excited to try D'Vine. I love frequenting our local restaurants. It had been years since that last time we had been here and came based on a recommendation from a friend. . The biggest disappointment was the wine and specifically the temp. It's one thing for a restaurant to be off but a wine bar should be spot on. Unfortunately, the red wines were really warm. Yes, they are supposed to be warmer .... but not warmer than a inside Houston AC temp of 75ish degrees and these were warm to the touch and palate! The Sauvignon Blanc was somewhat chilled but the Pinot Noir (which is ideal at 60-65) and the Beaujolais (ideal at 56) were both well into 70s. It just made them not as appeaing. The cheese selection was very slim and average ... the Gouda was pretty bland and the Manchego was nearly flavorless. Was looking forward to a meaty crabcake (you get just 1 in appetizer) but it was a very bready, straight from Costco type. Pepperoni flatbread was marginal with little flavor. And while Salmon was nicely cooked, the balsamic glazed over very hard dried figs was just sticky sweet. With a smaller menu, its usually easier to get those items done well and I think they could easily refine a few things and really elevate the quality of the dining experience. I hope they do!"
