"The food was fine but it lacked most of the flavor it had in the past. Service was friendly but not exceptional for a 22% forced tip. I recognize when good service is provided but a $25 forced tip over a $115.00 check is excessive. We were a party of two enjoying a late lunch. I was about to add a tip when I noticed that a 22% gratuity was already added. I don't believe we ever coming back to this restaurant."

"First time at this restaurant with my family! Everything we order was delicious, appetizers, main course and desserts! The Peruvian Paella, the lamb, the beef with fries!!!! Without talking about dessert! A divine passion fruit flan! And of course some 'pisco '. We were impressed by the beautiful presentation of all the dishes and by the good service by Ismael!"

"Authentic Peruvian cuisine in a cozy setting. My extended family is Peruvian and between home cooked meals and travel throughout Peru the dishes here certainly lived up to their name. Most of the food was very good. Plenty of food with each order. Ceviche was delicious. Jalea included crab legs which was a first for me. The chicken causa was a little bland. Presentation was great on all the dishes. The decor inside was simple, and from the outside a little run down. Staff was attentive. A great little hidden gem in downtown New Rochelle.Wheelchair accessibility: Location is accessible. Just one door and is on the 1st floor."

"I cannot stress enough how disappointing it is when a restaurant fails to deliver even the most basic of services in a timely manner.As a paying customer, one should not have to wait an unreasonable amount of time for their food (40+ mins after drinks arrived) nor should they have to watch others who came in after them receive their meals before they do!Came all the way from Brooklyn was disappointed.Furthermore, the lack of communication and transparency from the restaurant staff only adds insult to injury. If there is a delay in the kitchen or if there are any issues with the order, it is the responsibility of the restaurant to inform their customers and provide updates on the status of their food."

"Small restaurant with authentic Peruvian dishes. There is table service by a friendly and helpful staff. The food was prepared and well presented and we had a pleasant dinner. There are combinations that should be considered when there are 2 or more in your group. If there are 4 or less in your group, you probably don't have to wait for a table unless you come at the top of lunch or dinner times. Many people order by phone and get food home and this is another strategy. The shrimp ceviche (and other keviche dishes) are raw seafood prepared with citrus juices. This is normal for Ceviche and this place has done a good job. The chicken was also good and the fried plantain that was included with the chicken comb was delicious. There is a small charge per container to take residues home. See the pictures of food we have ordered while there is a menu, phone numbers, etc."

"I love this place! You can count on really helpful, and friendly service. They have a large menu full of options. So feel free to ask your server for suggestions. This is a not a large space, but seats just enough.My go to is their Arroz con Mariscos (seafood rice), but I also love their Chaufa Arroz (Asian flavor rice). I am super picky when it comes to eating rice, but there is something about Peruvian rice dishes that I cannot describe. Absolutely fantastic, please just try for yourself.Also, their ceviche is full of flavor perfection, and is a large portion. Oh yeah, can't forget about the Causa, if you like potatoes, room temperature or cold, a Causa dish may possibly blow your mind. Another Peruvian creation full of unexpected flavors.Overall, I highly recommend Taste of Peru. Their quality of food and generous portions are outstanding. Such a wonderful local restaurant to support."

"I really felt cheated and above all disappointed. My family and I went to this restaurant thinking it would be the same as my favorite restaurant in La Victoria, Lima, Peru, but it doesn't even come close. It is a shame that it has the same name, because it deceives people. I went thinking I would eat well, we ordered 2 menus (for starters we ordered salchipapa and for mains we ordered pollada and beans with pork chop) and they brought us a jug of apple water. That water was the only thing ok, the chicken was salty, raw, and seemed to be fried in reused oil multiple times. The pork chop was raw and the fries were fried in reused oil, they had a different color. And if that wasn't enough, they charged us 37 dollars for 2 menus. If the food had been good, I wouldn't have minded paying that amount. But it hurt my soul to pay so much for 2 menus. We will not be returning to this place. You didn't make it."
