"This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in America. The atmosphere is okay, resting somewhere between a very casual restaurant and a Mexican sports bar. It 's the perfect place to watch Chivas play America, but I don 't come here for the atmosphere. The food is insane. You cannot order anything wrong on the menu and the price point is extremely reasonable. My favorite is the Tacos al Pastor. This is the best Al Pastor I 've had anywhere by several orders of magnitude. By this, I mean no Al Pastor I 've tried anywhere has even approached comparison with this recipe north or south of the border. It 's that good. I 'm sure there are some puritans out there who would be offended that the pork isn 't thin, dry, shaved slabs served with a piece of pineapple, but even they would have to admit that Lupita 's Al Pastor actually tastes far better. If you like Ceviché, you 're in for a special treat. There are a number of varieties of ceviché at Lupita 's and they 're all good, so knock yourself out. I don 't know if they do this all the time, but on many occasions I 've had a free small order of ceviché on a fried tortilla served with each beer I ordered. And the beer was cheaper than most bars I 've been to. The free ceviché was the cheap stuff on the menu, but I still like it. Especially for free with a Dos Equis. Their enchilada sauce is rich and lively, but also has the much deeper notes of a molé. Really worth it! Enchiladas are pretty staple fare at any Mexican restaurant and usually pretty boring. They 're good for getting kids and unadventurous adults to eat something besides a burrito. These enchiladas are actually interesting, delicious and would please a discerning foody. For the unadventurous, there 's plenty that 's going to keep you happy and the price is going to make you ecstatic. My wife and I leave full for about $15. That 's with drinks. (My trick is to order a la carte. For the more adventurous, the rewards are much greater. I know how hard it is, but in the first several visits you really need to try a bunch of stuff. There used to be a steal of a dinner at $10 that had a bit of everything. I think the new version of this deal is about $18 and is called the Lupita 's Special or something equally creative. The place also has a fully stocked bar. But then again, everyplace around Reno has a fully stocked bar. A brief side note! On Sundays at around 8 PM is Mexican karaoke. I 'm not a huge karaoke fan, but this has a certain novelty value. I just moved back to California, and although it 's beautiful here I 'm still a little bummed out that I left my favorite Mexican restaurant in America back there in Sparks."
