"This is our third trial of this new Morimoto venue in Napa. The first trip, Chef Morimoto was on site and supervised the kitchen. All the dishes were delicious, full of umami, depth of favor. The service was very uneven but I gave them a break since it was the opening weekend. Fast forward to 2 weeks later, dined there again (see my another review). What a disappointment. Last night and the third trial. What a let down again. We checked in with the friendly and proficient host. Unfortunately, it went downhill from that point. Our server Nick did not do a proper job as a server. We ordered some beer but we had to repeat to him 3 times. During the dinner, he did not check with us. The table were dirty and he did not come to offer cleaning it up. We had to ask the busboy to get a rag to wipe clean the table. He did not remove the dirty plates after the appetizers. We ordered some dim sum as appetizers and had the crispy rice and mapo tofu ramen as our entrees. All of dishes were under seasoned. Noticed it happened in the second visit too. The kitchen and the floor need a lot training work. Then, we had the mango pudding and homemade tofu for the desserts. The mango pudding is a very simple dessert. I'd give it a B- because the texture of the pudding is too gelatin. The homemade tofu is a big disappointment. The tofu should be silky smooth and soft which I could slurp it in the mouth. Unfortunately, the tofu is too firm, almost like a cake. The ginger syrup is not too sweet, which I like, with a hint of ginger favor. Regarding the price, the dim sum at Empress M is 40% less expensive but have more favors. Without reviving the kitchen, why does anyone want to pay 100% more than but get the food not much better than the Panda Express?"

"we arrived 1 hour early and sat at the bar to enjoy a few cocktails. the cocktails are good. everything started to go from the moment we were sitting. there were a few more that joined us to dinner. we ordered a round drink. they came, but took some time. we finally got the opportunity to order us. we all ordered. I had the burger. the woman had healed. my buddy had the best nativity and his wife had the black bubbly and skalopps. a time had passed before we got our food. about 30 min. medium-term I had to grab the table itself to get rid of the cocktails. a man I forgot him. he came and filled our water and asked if we needed something. I answered, we are in order, we are waiting for our meal. the man was out of the bar area. our meals finally came but our friends did not come. so we sat and waited and after 12 min my friend passed the host. sh found our server and sent it over. she said she would check the remaining food. She came back after a minute and said something happened and her order didn't go through and they do it now. for another 14 minutes the rest of the food came and we started eating. at this time our meals were cold. what I can do without biggie. However, the healed of my wife seemed boiled and really fish. the drills that were served with him were almost useless. Maybe they wanted to have an al Dente style, but they missed the sign. my burger was good, the pommes were the star of the show. my buddy liked his head rib and his wife was in order with her teller. their scallops were cooked. after $98 mice at the bar plus a few more cocktails at the table and dinner we were at about $405 ish in this. we often go out and we were thrilled to try a new place. will we come back? Maybe if someone comes to me to do this, we will do that. at this time I would not recommend any friends and family. best - yes. jeff pigage"
