"10/29/2017 was a damp rainy day in OC. My husband and I wanted a casual hearty supper and soup sandwiches came to mind. We knew we did not want to eat chain subs etc. Also, quite a few places were closed for the season. I searched online for casual restaurants open year round and Rosenfeld's was on a list and highly recommended. Knowing if it was an authentic place it would be great, we went...my husband had a small bowl of matzo ball soup to start and declared it perfect. Even though they are SO BIG, we each had a sandwich...8 ounces of sliced meat, cheese, bread....I had a Reuben sans sauerkraut with a small cup of perfect Cole slaw with Swiss Cheese on grilled marbled rye. Hubs had the Poppy a combo of brisket and turkey...Delicious. I ate it ALL. Hubs ate half ...no room for anything else. The meats were so flavorful and tender. We learned they prepare their meats on site...desserts looked fab and are made by their pastry chef...this is truly a gem of a deli right where it's needed. Note staff said they do close all of January and 1st two weeks of February each year.."
