"Visited on a Sunday evening and was surprised by the busy crowd. Looked like there was a least one large party. I was immediately welcomed by a warm smile and seated. Despite the crowd, my drink order was taken in a minute or two and was brought some fantastic warm buttery bread. I'm so glad I was dining alone so I didn't have to share the bread. The Sangria was crisp and fruity. I ordered the Siboney steak medium well. This is the only place I order my steak medium well. I typically order medium rare but I like the char on skirt steak. It's served with yellow rice and beans and plantains. As I waited for my meal I noticed how spotless the entire restaurant appears. In a few minutes my dish was served piping hot. The plantains were fork tender and tasty. The rice was fluffy and perfect after a shot of the house pepper sauce and married with the black beans. The signature steak was fabulous. Just the right char to provide extra flavor without over cooking and making the steak tough. All in all a wonderful dining experience at a very fair price.Don't hesitate to visit this location in Stock Island over the original restaurant in Key West. The food and service is as good as the original with a much more local feel and larger venue, so less wait when busy. Isamar was the most charming and professional waitress. I'm already looking forward to my next visit."
