"Well, walking around Mount Vernon, I came across Pia2Za. This particular address has been many many things over the years. Pia2za is the newest iteration in this location. Curious, I stepped inside to see what it was all about. Basically, this is a pizzeria/sub shop. Excellent! This type of place is always welcome in the neighborhood. As a native New Yorker, Pizza, it 's some thing that I 'm pretty particular about. When I come across a place, that is a pizza place, I always order (without fail a regular cheese slice. Based on the way that it tastes, determines whether I want anything else or if I 'll be back . A good pizza, to me, has a certain taste. The majority of places here in Maryland are missing 'that taste '. Well, I 'm here to tell you... This cheese slice was perfection... and was a NORMAL price. SCORE!!! (Lately, I 've come across places that are charging $6-8 for a slice. Crazy!!! GTFOH! . It had the right amount of cheese. It had a nice simple, tomato sauce base. The bottom of the slice was nicely crusted up to maintain it 's shape and best of all, when folded, grease dripped down my arm. HEAVEN!!! SCORE!! Looking at the menu, there are many offerings that I would enjoy so I 'm definitely coming back to try cheesesteaks, stuffed mushrooms, fried mushrooms, fried zucchini, etc. I hope this place does well and sticks around because a good sub shop that isn 't over priced... like a few right around the corner, would be a great addition.I 'll most assuredly be back!!
