"My husband and I spent a day with Santa Barbara and couldn't wait to taste the pizza. Patxi’s was a short walk from our hotel. We were shown one of the street-side tables that we thought was perfect! Unfortunately no one ever made eye contact with us, brought us menus or water, or came by to take our order. We noticed that the people sitting at the bar were waiting for the bartender who was really enthusiastic. After 15 minutes we rose and moved to the bar, after we first told the hostess why we did. I would like to stress that the restaurant was not crowded during this time. We saw as waiters after waiters ignored the outside customers. Several other groups sat on the street and had to stand up and come to the restaurant to ask if they could get water, menus and if a waiter could come to take their order. We saw many waiters, the restaurant was not busy and we let the hostess know there was a problem. There is really no excuse for this kind of bad service. Here too, the bartender was really enthusiastic and cared for his customers. His name was Jesus."
