"We ate dinner at Outback tonight because my husband was given a gift card by a friend. We had never been before, and I'm glad that it was covered by a gift card for the most part. I'll start with the positive, which was that our server was very attentive, polite, and our drinks stayed filled. However, the service really didn't stand up to the poor experience we had with the quality of food. The appetizer wasn't bad, but realistically, it's very hard to mess up fries that are covered in cheese and bacon. My husband's sirloin had the strangest texture that I've ever encountered in a steak (it was somehow chewy but not all at the same time), wasn't really seasoned, and left an odd, slightly charred taste in the mouth. My chicken was decent, but nothing special, and definitely not worth the price for a piece of fried chicken breast. The creamed spinach was the pretty terrible it basically tasted like creamy grass clippings. My mashed potatoes were basically just potatoes, no seasoning, no butter, no liquid to speak of, and had a sort of film over them that require some stirring to get rid of. The only really decent part of the actual meal was the mac and cheese, but it was very, very peppery. Almost overwhelmingly so. Service was great, but it seems like the kitchen may have some major issues. It's a definite no for us moving forward, especially with so many other great options in the area."
