"Great local Mexican restaurant. I'm in the area for a few weeks, and that was my first dinner here. The place is beautifully decorated with an authentic traditional touch. It was time for dinner, but the seat was super fast. Next I know that tortilla chips were delivered to the table. Manu is very wide and offers every taste and every need. I ordered Fajitas and it wasn't even 10 minutes later on the table. Margarita was fantastic. I skipped the desert when I was so full. Will definitely be back for traditional food."

"One Sunday in August 2021, we went to Chavez like we always do when we visit my Mom in Spring Branch. I get the shrimp. It was always good until the last time. Are used to get Tex-Mex but discovered their shrimp. The last time was the Sunday and immediately the service was off you could just tell and the food took longer then ever before. They bought the shrimp with fish on it which is never happened before. But I thought it be good to try the fish so I didn’t say anything. Then I bit into the shrimp and it was awful… Gamy. So I complained to the waiter. The waiter comes back And says he spoke to the cook about it. That was all He did…big deal. So we got our ticket to leave no discount or any kind of offer about the bad shrimp. Then when I went to house them about it they said I should’ve returned the plate. (which I complained the minute I tasted the shrimp) Wow! It took twice more for me to complain before they finally took off that plate of shrimp that I ordered. It was a huge pain with them lecturing me and looking at me like I’ve done something wrong. Really bad customer service. Really cheap way of doing business. Especially since we’ve been regular customers there for many years. Don’t know what else to say about that it kind of speaks for itself. Needless to say they ended our customer relationship with them right away. I should have returned the plate immediately when it had the fish on it. That was not what I ordered.I think they added the fish to cover up the fact that they didn’t have any shrimp left and couldn’t communicate enough to tell someone then I’ll order the shrimp."

"Greeted kindly and seated promptly! The service was pretty good. The chips and salsa were brought out very quickly. Our server seemed a bit slow but she was very helpful with the menu items and suggestions. The pasta was delicious!! I couldn't believe it. Would reorder again! I never would have thought to enjoy a pasta at a Mexican restaurant. Would return and recommend."

"We had come here on a Saturday night, as we were craving spicy and soy garlic wings and as always, BonChon doesn’t disappoint! We ordered the Half/half soy garlic/spicy, two orders of the potstickers (so good we ordered another batch after the first), bao buns, and bulgogi. Everything was YUM and super hot, and fresh. Our waitress Jess was fantastic, she was so helpful and sweet when taking our order as well as explaining any details we had about the menu! We can’t wait to come back, it was a great experience."

"I wish I had thought to take a pic of the before for the beef fajitas... But they are just that good, that I didn't think to take a photo. I know most people won't do steak fajitas at main chain restaurants because their steak is chewy. Not here. Been here 3 times and EVERYTIME (no joke) it is tender and seasoned to perfection. The staff has always been very respectful and nice. Service is quick. The bar is a fun place to hang with friends for some drinks and not break your wallet. I will recommend this place over any main chain restaurants for texmex food."

"Excellent! Had the fried shrimp platter. It tasted so good, I myself so full but couldn't stop eating because it was that good.. Staff was friendly. Would definitely go back. My sister in-law got the sea food platter and hers was just as good. Oh and the jalapeño crab poppers were full of crab and had great flavor. Had to go back a second time also. Got a grilled chicken sandwich and my sister in-law got a shrimp and oyster po-boy. Ordered a cheese cake for myself and she got fried bread pudding I think. Well worth going to this place if you are in the area."

"Dirtiest bathrooms we have ever encountered. Maybe it was just a bad night. Food was good but took way too long for what we ordered. Our party was four adults and three kids, but we all ordered normal stuff. Waitress was attentive and kept our chips coming and drinks filled, but even she apologized twice for the length of time. I live on the east side of town and frequent Macayo's in our area with no issues. Like I said maybe just a bad night"
