"Great meal in a wonderfully comfortable location. The ambience was beautiful and the restaurant was quiet enough to speak and hear. It's hard to find restaurants where you can talk to others at the table. That was definitely the place to go. We drove from the north bank and when we arrived, we realized that others we knew about the suburbs were there. The food was wonderful. We'll be back for dinner."

"My daughter-in-law and I ate here yesterday and we really enjoyed our meal. I love Veal Marsala and there are very few Italian restaurants that make it good. This restaurant is right at the point. The calf was tender and the Marsala wine taste came through. My daughter-in-law has the Auberginenparmigiana and she loved her. The bread is delicious to round the meal. The owner and the staff were friendly and we plan to return next week."

"Usually love the shanty. The food was greaser and way too much salt by a lot for everything! They also changed out the type of bread that is served you can’t even buy the focaccia bread as an appetizer. That was one of the main reasons for making the drive to the restaurant."

"30 years old. it could be 90 years old, this Italian kitchen in the style of chicago is not in overblowed hype. this is delicious Italian cuisine (how can everyone go wrong) served in an ambiente that can only be found on a place, club lucky, only in chicago. excellent service and auberginenparmasan and lasagne for the 8th birthday of my daughter. family said enough."

"Server was excellent, had noted on reservation special occasion dinner for daughters anniversary and had hoped they offer a dessert or something for the couple but that’s ok. Ordered the Gorgonzola filet that comes with fettuccine Alfredo and green beans. Asked to sub French fries for the green beans. Received French fries and green beans instead of French fries and fettuccine. Worked out fine but was a little disappointed but not enough to send it back. Everything tasted great and had a lovely experience."

"Really good food, depends who your server is but they are very good. I took mom there for Mother's Day and some things were forgot but they offered a free glass of wine for them forgetting moms coffee fills a few times, she doesn't drink alcohol though ! Fruit flies were a definite problem our first visit there but there seemed to be a problem with them everywhere in Chicago. I'd recommend this place"

"Decided to try a new place this evening, huge mistake! We will never return! Other than our server being very friendly and attentive (even though we never got straws for our drinks, maybe they were out). The food was beyond the worst food I have evergotten at any restaurant, especially one who?s name fools you into thinking they have good steaks/fish/burgers. We ordered onesteak and baked potato, one steak and shrimp with mashed potatoes and one burger and fries. The steaks were beaten so bad onlyto make them look larger, they were very, very dry and too difficult to cut/chew. If you enjoy leather, you may enjoy thesteaks! My husbands steak was half fat and he left still hungry after paying so much for the food! Spending that much money onfood that my dogs wouldn?t even eat is ridiculous. I could?ve gotten the same food at any other restaurant and it would?ve beencheaper and much better tasting! How this restaurant has any decent reviews baffles me!"
