"We dined at Berta's with another couple and enjoyed every minute! The atmosphere is completely homey. We felt like we were in Berta's dining room at her home (though probably bigger). The server was exceptionally friendly and did a wonderful job telling us about the mouthwatering items on the menu, which items he preferred over the others, etc. The entree choices are a selection of one per major Latin American cuisine, e.g., one from Peru, one from Mexico, etc. Everything was very tasty and flavorful without being hot spicy. We had the Chilean Empanadas and Spanish Pincho Moruno as appetizers, followed by the Mexican Mole Poblano, Peruvian Seco de Cordero, Chilean Pastel de Choclo, and the fish of the day which was snapper. All were excellent. We also enjoyed a recommended bottle of wine from Chile, the Santa Ema Select Terroir 2016 Carmenere, which was very smooth and went well with every dish. For dessert, we shared flan, lemon cheesecake, and Olinda's pudding all were unique in their own way and a wonderful end to the meal. And then the bonus Berta herself came out to thank us and we chatted with her about her background, her love for cooking, and her family. She was so personable! We can't wait to go back."
