"1) The ambiance at Matilda was not what I expected from a restaurant listed on OpenTable. The picnic bench setting with fake grass under the tables felt a bit unconventional. There was a lack of cutlery and utensils, and the sauces were displayed on a car next to cleaning supplies. I understand that they specialize in tacos, but being in Miami Beach, I expected a bit more sophistication.
2) The tacos were priced at around $3.75 each. The Carnita taco was decent, but the presence of large chunks of pork made it difficult to eat and the textures did not quite match. The Pollen de Carbon taco, made with pulled chicken, lacked flavor and was a bit watery, causing the taco shells to get soggy quickly. A beer cost $8, and the chips were average with salsa served in small plastic containers.
3) When it came time to leave a tip in cash, I found that they did not have the correct change for a twenty-dollar bill. Overall, my experience at Matilda left much to be desired in terms of the food quality and service."
