"This India Gate has the most authentic Indian Cuisine in Central Texas and South Texas that I’ve tasted. The Goat Biryani was outstanding! One of the best I’ve ever had and I’ve eaten biryanis all over the world. It’s well seasoned the rice was cooked to perfection. It has a semi-gravy that is essential for a proper biryani. The Butter Chicken—also one of the best: tomatoey, tangy, slightly sweet, perfect amount of salt and smooth masala combination. The Paneer-Cashew Pulao was also great—unique to the area. The only suggestion I have about the pulao is to minimize the use whole spices, as they tend to fragment during the cooking sharing process. Naans were fluffy tasty. Gobi Manchurian was perfect: crunchiness, flavor and overall texture (outstanding! . The Apollo Fish was very good as well, but this was a spicier version—you can ask to reduce the green chilis. Mango Lassi was thick, rich mangoey. The Masala Chai: Insanely Delicious, Rich and Creamy, but I need it sweeeeeet, so I was prepared by bringing my own Punjabi Shakkar (Punjabi Evaporated Cane Juice . Staff was also amazing—we were able to meet the Head Chef: Padma. Overall, popular Indian Cuisine from North to South is typically spicy warming, so prepare your palate. NOTE: Many people in the world are allergic to certain peppers and chilies, so it’s not necessarily Indian Cuisine that can irritate the gut bowel. What makes it worse (in the gut is the mix of chilies dairy, which can potentially compound any irritability. We’ll return for the buffet and do another review. Thank you India Gate for bringing so many great tastes of India to America and ATX."
