"Ok I rarely post reviews but this one takes the cake. Literally. Ordered our Wedding Cake end of July 2021, for our wedding this week Friday September 3, 2021. Last week, 1 week before our wedding, my fiancé was diagnosed with COVID-19. This is after we had both been vaccinated in April. We have had to cancel the wedding and postpone until we can get her healthy. The Spokane vendors we chose were so kind and held our deposits with full credit towards the future date. The caterer with over $6k deposit shared his story of his sister getting sick and her struggle to recover. The entertainment and DJ held our $1,800 deposit to reschedule and couldn’t have been more kind and sympathetic. The Venue as well expressed their grief for what we are going through. They are also holding our deposit and helping us to find a reschedule date. All vendors are local to Spokane Wa. A city we love and will someday have our wedding.Only one vendor acted without compassion or empathy and came across as callous and uncaring on the phone. The bakery we contracted for our $1,400 wedding cake. Sweet Frostings. They refunded only half and explained their contract was clear about cancellation. How a baker can justify charging us $716.75 with nothing actually baked is a mystery but that is their policy. As I write this my Fiancé is still in bed recovering. Multiple Hospital visits will no doubt be costly since she can only be seen at the emergency room. She has been unable to work and I am home caring for her.We contacted all friends and family from all over the country and they have all responded with an outpouring of love and support despite the airfare and hotels they may or may not have been refunded. This is our experience and I thought I should share. Goes without stating we will not use this baker for our wedding cake when our big day finally comes.Note to the owners of this business: Just because you can charge a fee due to your policy doesn’t mean you should."
