"Got recommended this place as my wife and I are tired of disappointing brisket and BBQ. Sadly it only delivered exactly that. Place was near empty they still managed to serve us cold brisket, my brisket sandwich was chewy and the 3 dollar sides are so small it's almost insulting. Look elsewhere for ur brisket and meat cravings. This ain't it."

"The wait was very long. Way too long for BBQ. 35 minutes at off peak 230. Pm is extreme. The server was extremely nice. I was however very disappointed by the lack of seating. You can not come to sit and eat. There were about 8 tables and all the seats were taken by people waiting for BBQ. Again that wait thing. But, while I hot the lean brisket, that was a little dry, the flavor was amazing. The pork ribs fall off the bone literally. I had man and cheese with was just ok. The baked beans with sausage were awesome. Overall really killer BBQ. One of the best you will find. And bonus : the servings are surprisingly large!"

"The meat was delicious, we ordered pulled pork and beef brisket. Both were moist and tender. Cheesy potatoes were good as well. Beans were also good. The food is served cafeteria style and the guys that were serving it were having a great time and were funny and awesome to talk to. The vibe inside Hill Country is Texas country with wood floors and walls, long tables and chairs and also smaller tables for smaller groups. We did see several large groups while here and they were able to all sit at the same long table. I would definitely recommend this place if you like bbq and would definitely eat here again"

"Our first time here. They may be a good venue for music but the food experience wasn't great. We tried fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. They were not very flavorful. The hamburger was good and the fries good. The meatloaf was a very unappealing presentation and was overpowered by the gravy, which probably should have been served on the side. The jalapeño corn had no noticeable jalapeño and not much flavor. The gentleman who greeted us was very pleasant but it took a while for wait staff to follow up. Beautiful location."

"Good twist. This restaurant was slightly cookie cutter but the menu had just enough of a twist to it make it stand out in the crowd. They had plenty of TV 's which is not that new but at each table they have an audio controller so you can 'tune in ' the sound from the screen showing what you want to watch. Great for the dad who might be missing the big game. Our service was excellent the day of our visit as well. Luckily pricing did keep in line with the other restaurants of its kind by being not too high."

"I was pleasantly surprised by the BBQ Burger at Smokey Bones. It definitely deserves more recognition! The coleslaw, pulled pork, and fried pickles made for a delicious combination. The sweet potato fries were also great and nicely seasoned. I tried both the mac and cheese and the fire-roasted corn, and they were both pretty tasty."

"I had a chance to stop by Smokey Bones with a friend while we were in the Greenbrier area. I know it's a Darden Chain, but I must admit the smell outside of smoking meats drew me in from the parking lot. It was mid-day so I was just going to grab a quick drink and maybe a snack. Well I am glad I did. I ordered the Smoked Wings of of their Ap Menu. Can I just say YUM! These things were fresh, smoked perfectly, and incredibly delicious. The Bleu Cheese was on point and even the crispies on the side were fresh. Great beverages also. This place is actually pretty darn good. Ill be back, I like the atmosphere and the staff was on the ball. Good Spot!"

"Visited the Mesquite Pit for Saturday lunch. Ordered the Armadillo eggs (very tasty brisket stuffed fried jalapenos) to start, followed by st. Louis style ribs. Party also got chopped beef and pork chop. All the entrees were delicious. Of the sides, themashed potatoes, onion rings, and green beans were standouts. And the bread is delicious! Awesome atmosphere and huge portionswill not disappoint. 5/5 can't wait to return."

"The BEST BBQ place I've been to in town. Beef ribs and crispy brussel sprouts are to die for. Fast, friendly and decently priced, especially cobsidering portion sizes. BBQ sauce is delicious. Love the crispy onions they sometimes throw on top as well. Yum Yum Yum! The only downfall is I've been trying to order these things for a week and every time I call they're either sold out or don't have them in. I finally got my hot little hands on some today and my goodness...worth the wait. I could only eat 1 rib because they are that meaty."

"If you like spice, this is your bbq place. Was pleasantly surprised with the non-meat option (jackfruit), which I will order next time instead of meat (which was spiced too much for my taste). Loved the appetizers: loaded potato skins and firebombs. Atmosphere was loud, tables close together, but the service was excellent and employee morale was high."

"My partner was looking for BBQ experience at Charleston SC and we chose Melvin's. It is absolutely amazing! The portion size is humongous and we couldn't finish a full rack (12) of ribs and 6 chicken wings between two of us The smoked flavor was great and the service was super fast with pleasant crews.
