"Located in the heart of Mount Airy, this quaint breakfast shop looks more like a small gathering room than restaurant. Two servers carry the load of the service from sitting customers, taking orders, serving food, to cleaning the tables. They were gracious and pleasant, facilitating an atmosphere that is casual and informal.I ordered the Boutique Breakfast Sandwich, which is two eggs, breakfast meat (I ordered bacon), with cheese on a croissant. I added to it a side of the Apple Pie Pancakes. The food arrived and was pleasant in appearance. My eye immediately went to the sandwich that was served with only two slices of bacon. A tad sparse in my mind. It was however quite tasty despite the limited pork contribution, the croissant sweet and flaky the way I would have expected. The pancakes, on the other hand, were a tad bland, with the randomly placed apple slices that were cooked inside the hotcake not adding a whole lot to the flavor of the dish. The sweet butter cream was the star of the plate, adding a rich, buttery flavor to a selection that was screaming for sweetness.Service and ambiance is what carried meal. From a food standpoint, it left a lot to be desired, especially since I can get a comparatively equal sandwich from a local quick serve restaurant at a fraction of the cost."
