"If you are dining in Scottsdale, you have to make sure that when you go to Mastros Ocean Club you ask for John Mondella as your server. The food is outstanding, but what keeps us coming back every time is John’s outstanding kindness and service. He is incredibly professional and helpful and creates a 10/10 experience every time."

"I've never been disappointed by Mastros. I celebrated my anniversary there and they were not disappointed. I had a killer ridge eye with molten Bleu cheese up with sautéed jalapeños, which is for dying. My wife, the twin slumber. We shared the gnocchi and sautéed shrimps. I'll give him 10! An extra dirty martini filled with bleu cheese olives. I highly recommend sitting in the bar area. The singers are brilliant and it creates a great ambience."

"The staff at Mastro 's is always top notch. Notably, our server (Erika) was appropriately attentive and helpful. Everything from the steaks to the side dishes were done very well, as usual. We are never disappointed with the steaks. The 'only ' exception was the asparagus, which was a bit fibrous. We would have been happy with the tips, which eliminates much of the fibrous lower stalk, but I understand customers tend to want the full stalk. On the positive side, the halibut was thick and perfectly seared. Some of the best halibut we 've ever had, as it can be difficult to cook such a delicate fish. The wild mushrooms in truffle butter and garlic mashed potatoes were also very good. We really enjoy visiting Mastro 's and will certainly be back again."

"The service was impeccable. We sat in the bar so the ambience was just what we were looking for with the live music. The cosmopolitans, shrimp and steak were outstanding. The macaroni and cheese was dry and tasted like kraft Parmesan. We’re disappointed they no longer have au gratin potatoes. Overall a pleasant experience and we will return."

"The singer was amazing was the hilite of our evening. I came with 3 friends that have never been to Mastros- we ordered the shucked raw oysters to start I have never been to any restaurant that didn’t cut the oyster from the shell!!! We had to cut it with our knives pick the shells out of our mouths… horrible! It was like eating egg shells. I asked the server if this is normal (as it’s very strange) she said no- that’s not normal she’ll mention it to the chef… nothing was ever done or mentioned again to us. When we got the bill, we waited over 40minutes for anyone to come back to us… we finally waived down another server she started to process our bill. Our server finally came back apologized saying she got stuck downstairs (whatever that means). We ended up being there for almost 4hrs!!!! I’ve been to Mastros several times never had such bad service… sadly my friends won’t likely come back."

"Overall STARS because that'sall the system will allow......Service, food accommodations STARS!!! We had a large party. We were originally told that we couldn't be accommodated for a large party, so we made a few reservations in hopes that we could all sit together. We got there at reservation time which was also time for the restaurant to open. They said they could not help us to make it so that our family could sit together. Steve stepped in MAGIC happened. Not only did he rearrange the seating to accommodate us, but he also gave us a phenomenal wait staff lead by a very experienced Tee He was AWESOME!!! Thank you for making my mother's aunt's Birthdays very special!!"

"Mastros as a whole is on a scale of it's own. To rate it comparatively is almost unfair to any other steakhouse. I haven't had anything mediocre, or anything below greatness. While I usually go to their other location, I was treated to this location just recently and decided to make a review. My only critique is that their heat measurement is a hair different at this location. It caused our table to get a slightly more rare cut than we were all used to. They did a great job in describing their temperatures which we all heard, but promptly ignored. Regardless, that did nothing to stop us from leaving only skeletal remains on our plates. I don't believe any cut of meat tops their bone in filet. Not even the Waygu Beef. Their all amazing, but the Bone-In Filet is perfection. It always pairs astonishingly well with their Garlic Lobster Mashed Potatoes with a side of any of their veggies. This particular location's drinks are better than most high end bars. Can't wait to visit again."

"Been here a few times, and I can say hands down it’s much better than ocean prime across the street. Filet is absolutely delicious, ocean prime had undercooked it. Tip, get it with truffle butter, tastes fantastic! Sides (mac creamed spinach) are delicious Butter cake is really good but big (also better than ocean prime) Sin cake is ok, very rich has some espresso/coffee flavoring which isn’t in the description Whether you sit at one of their three bars or a table, service is fantastic"

"A group of us from LA celebrated a birthday on a Saturday night. A perfect place for a special dinner. I had the Chilean Sea Bass others had the Petite Filet. Everything was delicious! We sat in the lounge and enjoyed the piano player and singer. The service would have been better. The table next to us who came after us got bread before us. Nevertheless, we will come back to hear our favorite actor Jojo."

"Good steakhouse in midtown. Had excellent live music on a Wednesday. Attentive service and sleek ambiance. Food was good, but better steakhouses exist. And prices are high — def caters to the corporate midtown crowd out on a business credit card. I had the NY strip, which was a fine cut of meat. Mac N Cheese and Creamed Spinach were the best sides. Maple bacon won the apps. Everything was pretty good, but not great. So 4 stars not 5."

"I 3 starred atmosphere for the following reason: This is ranked most romantic restaurant in Thousand Oaks. When we were seated, I felt like I was in a night club. Please please PLEASE move your music choices down tempo. Sade, Joss Stone, Tracy Chapman, love songs, this is not a dance club. And you can even turn the volume down a few decibels. Everything else was 5 star, including the absolutely delicious food and wine. Austin Hope, Cabernet. Must try!!!"

"My boyfriend, his mother, and I went to this restaurant to celebrate his birthday together, and the food was excellent. Our server, Manuel, was fantastic. He provided great recommendations and made our dining experience effortless and stress-free. My boyfriend ordered twin lobster tails, which were not only enormous but also delicious. I opted for the Seabass, which was cooked to perfection. We also shared a side of lobster mash, which was the best I have ever had. It had huge chunks of lobster, the largest portion of lobster mash we have ever seen at any restaurant, and I have been to many upscale restaurants. Overall, Manuel ensured that we had an enjoyable experience."
