"Northern Taste is located just outside of Chinatown at 34th and Halsted. It is worth seeking out. The menu has some Shenyang type specialties, like Lamb Skewers. But much of the menu is Sichuan, and authentically so. The feature we chose was the Spicy and Numbing Stirfry. You choose from a wide selection of vegetables, meats, poultry, and seafood. It is all fried together in a wonderful, rich mixture of seasonings and spices. We also shared an excellent West Lake Beef soup. With better quality beef than is usually found elsewhere, this too was a winner. Generous portions and helpful service, along with very low prices, make this a very important discovery.
