"I was visiting from Brooklyn and had an absolutely amazing meal at El Patron. Its a new restaurant in Poughkeepsie but it is truly unique, excellent and very well priced Mexican food that I will make a permanent stop whenever I travel North in the Hudson Valley. I love this place and am so happy I found it! Maybe I can convince them to expand to Brooklyn.... My friends tell me this restaurant specializes in Oxacan Mexican cuisine. I don 't know that I 've ever been to a restaurant specializing in this region, but it was certainly a little different than your everyday Mexican fair and it made me very interested in learning more. Mexican food is my favorite cuisine, but I don 't usually get much variety in a menu. Here they had many dishes I 'd never encountered before that used cactus leaves (turned out to be delicious! , fried oxacan cheese, and grilled jalapenos in interesting ways. Even the small salad that came with my meal was a fresh spin they gave me fresh lime and oil instead of 'oil vinegar ' and it was absolutely delicious. "If I could give it zero stars, I would; this business was disgusting, the customer service was appalling, there was no communication about the price increases for my meals and drinks, and they even took thirty dollars from me and added their own gratuity. This place is completely unrecommendable because it is crowded with idiots and drug addicts who enter the restaurant to use the restroom. Watch your back and make sure your automobiles are locked."

"The food is excellent quality and cooked with the provision of authentic Mexican cuisine. There is a wide selection without the feeling of overwhelming options. I recommend the Mulitas!!! The management team is also on the point. I had an online order mishap where my order was calculated, but not passed through (I recommend their website directly instead of 3rd party). The manager has respectfully asked for my reception for the confirmation (quality control) and they have re-created my meal in just one kind of mines and was able to remove me and get out of the door again. Excellent customer service."

"Worst service from servers and owner. Plates were brought out like 30 minutes apart from each other. Plates were missing and still charged for. When spoke to owner, she was rude and did not admit responsibility and made excuses. Very unprofessional and bad attitude. Will not return and definitely do not recommend. Don't go if it's a big party, they can't handle it and will not serve correctly. Restrooms were also dirty and p all over the walls. Very disappointed in the service and the food."
