"I've been going to John since they opened almost 30 years ago. Huge selection of foods at reasonable prices. But with what is said, the food was good, but not as it was used. We went to dinner and ordered a gyro and a steak sandwich and fried zucchini. The gyro was very simple and lacked the taste is use to once. It was 2 thin pieces of meat, 2 slices of tomatoes, onion and yogurt sauce. It was not bad, but not the point where you would say I will be back for it. That's something John always was. The steak sandwich was good. The tomatoes on the sandwich looked like they were cooking with the steak. The role that the steak was up, soggy and shattered in 1000 island dressing. The steak was perfectly cooked and tasted great by itself, but lubricated with the other ingredients made it sharp as unforgettable. The zucchiniries were massive. We ordered the big one and were quite surprised by the crowd we got. The zucchini fell short in the taste category. They were hot and freshly cooked, crispy to perfection, but lack of salt or other spices. It was good, but it missed the sign. I will continue to go John 's because it is still good, but it used to be big. I hope they can keep on a good thing and possibly become the great symbol of diner food in the valley."
