"We went here for my friend's birthday and it was my first time coming to this place. When we were seated, our waiter came to ask us for any drinks to get us started and we told him we wanted to do wine tasting. He told us to hold on a second and walked off. He went to talk to a coworker and came back 5 minutes later. Then he took our wine choices. Proceeding the night, he wasn't too attentive of us and when he took our entree order, we had to repeat it three times because 2 of those times he was looking at other waiters and customers. So after the third time, he finally got our order right and went to put it in. Keep in mind it was only 2 of us and we ordered very simple entrees. When we were done he asked for any desserts and I told him we were celebrating a birthday and if the restaurant did anything for birthdays. He looked at my friend (birthday girl) and said no. That I had to buy a dessert and the restaurant doesn't offer it. I was honestly shocked on the way he said it and his only solution was for it to be bought. I've worked at restaurants before and instead of saying no, we usually just got a manager and the manager would decide to approve something or not. He didn't even offer to talk to a manager. So then I just asked for the check. Another server came by and asked if we were okay and I asked him about birthday desserts. This nice, young man said that the restaurant DID do birthday desserts and that he would work something out. He came back very quickly with a birthday dish and was very nice and attentive of us afterwards. Definitely made the night more better for us than our original waiter."

"Once a month me and a friend of mine, come to Cooper’s Hawk in Saint peters to have our monthly get together and to pick up our monthly wine. We start off with our tasting and then we determine what wine we’re going to have at the table. I have a few suggestions that I think might enhance the experience in two areas. 1. The tasting staff needs to build up the experience by explaining about the wines, and what they do even though you give the customers a placemat, they should be able to provide a story behind the wine since this is such a unique experience. Also, whenever we do the duet portion of the tasting, we should get to glasses one of each to compare I believe this is the intent behind the dual pairing 2. As for dining, the wait staff was wonderful. Very attentive, but still gave you enough space to enjoy your meal. I normally have never had a bad food experience here with the exception of yesterday evening when my salmon was way over cooked, and my vegetable medley was very mushy. I did tell my waitress, just to let the chef now, and she was more than happy to share that detail with the chef and cooking staff. I understand Friday evenings can be extremely busy and the turnaround is expected, but for the price of the meal, along with the experience of Cooper’s Hawk, I am willing to wait the extra 10 to 15 minutes so that my food is cooked and I can enjoy it. Otherwise, I think that this is a great concept. So glad they decided to build one close to my home, and I look forward to next month’s get-together. Cheers!!"
