"Honestly we were really looking forward to this meal for weeks. Got there and the staff was nice, they were running behind on service and asked if we could have a drink at the bar. Waited like 15 minutes for our reservation, no big deal. Got to our table; nice ambiance and look to the restaurant. Waiter came out and that’s when everything went down hill. Was informed that literally they were out of almost every steak, except a fillet, a sirloin and a New York strip (so basically half of their steaks gone), and no mushroom sides. So the 2 steaks I was wanting for weeks were sold out. Especially makes it hard when they only had like 3 non steak options on the menu. So I reluctantly ordered the New York strip, for then a few minutes later to be told they just sold out of those, and all that was left was the sirloin or fillet. The lobster bisque I had as an appetizer was good (not $18 good, but good). The chicken fried lobster was very good, could have been a meal. The fillet I ordered was good, although ordered medium-rare and was maybe medium. Honestly would have sent it back but worried there wouldn’t be any more steaks left. All of the tables around us were complaining about the lack choices due to their poor provisioning. So many people complaining not once did a manager come out and try to talk to customers. Would have been happier if I had been told when I walked in that basically they didn’t have anything. I would have most likely left, and tried to salvage our once in a blue moon date night. Had such high hopes, but with so many other great food choices in town, this will be a hard pass for me next time I’m in town."

"What a wonderful experience! I've been driving by since they redesigned and reopened the room and tried it. Last night, one of my dear friends and I decided to have a girl night out and went. From the moment we came in, until we were gone, all were very sweet. Sitting is usually long tables where you can share space with others. This leads to getting to know your neighbors and sharing what you found delicious with each other. My friend and I started with the Calamari. Fried calamari is a parole on most menus and since this is a seafood heavy restaurant, no surprises. You can also cook oysters raw or for starters. The Calamari came with a creamy and a vinegar-based diving sauce. The Calamari itself was very beautifully made not rubbery with a light, crunchy coating that was not overly scattered. We enjoyed it very much. We split two torts lobster roll with one side of Cole Slav and wedge-shaped frits and one of the signature dishes, the scallop with Pancetta Pasta with a bright cream sauce. Certainly, here on the peninsula, we are a bit pampered for good lobster rolls with Sam's Chowdermobile in HMB (or its food truck) and Old Port Lobster Shack (which has moved into her sister restaurant in Redwood City, Rack and Roll). So it had to work hard to be so good. And that was it! The role was roasted with a sip of herbal butter on it and the lobster pieces were generous and easily dressed with Mayo and herbs. The wedge-shaped frits were seasoned slightly and tastefully and the Cole Schwebe was not excessively sweet and tasty. The pasta was really nice. No excess of Pancetta that can make the dish something too salty, but enough to remind you that it is there. I think six scallops, so we had three half dollars each. The pasta was al dente and very tasty. It's not a quiet place, which is good in this case. They will not be able to have an intimate conversation, but everyone seemed very good to enjoy being with each other. We had a chat with a young couple close to us who were interested in our food selection and pursued our leadership with their order. The manager or the owner stopped to have a nice conversation with us. Our waitress was a real sweetheart who kept checking whether we had enough water or refreshed our drinks. I can't wait to bring my husband here soon."
