"Culver City residents and locals know something or two about big pastrami sandwiches. In fact, when 100 locals were asked where they would go for a great pastrami sandwich, 85 of them told us Johnnie Pastrami on Sepulveda Boulevard. One of these 100 people was my husband, who has loving memories of this piece of conversation. After hearing from so many people, I had to try it myself. The initial approach to the restaurant was increased by the gigantic old-style sign that floats above the small ice cream. Bunt and whimsical at the same time, both the interior and exterior of the facility was welcoming and entertaining for the eye. We decided to sit outside on the picturesque small terrace and serve as the weather was relatively nice this special afternoon. A server approached us at our shaded table and two sodas were ordered. We also got the signature Kosher style pickles, which were tingling but tasty with every crispy bite. Since 1952, Johnnie's Pastrami has served some of the mossing pastrami sandwiches. But that's not all. Seafood plates, hot dogs, juicy burgers, onion rings and frits, roasted chicken, sweet and tempting desserts... the list goes on for a while. Since my husband got the famous Johnnie's French Dip Pastrami Sandwich, I decided to have a tasteful cheeseburger. The results were excellent. My cheeseburger was cooked for perfection. The aroma of the excellently prepared beef patty beside the molten American cheese was simply heavenly. The sandwich was served with salad and tomatoes, and I ordered grilled onions as well as this delicious offer. Corresponding spices were added shortly after his arrival, and I consumed it slowly to enjoy every juicy and tasty morsel. When in Rome, right? My husband had no agony about what to order. He chose the Johnnie's Hot Pastrami French Dip Sandwich, which it says in its name. Layers of freshly cut warm pastrami stacked on a traditional French roll with Thousand Island Dressing on the side for diving after immersion in the special dining sauce. Bad? Yeah, I know. But delicious? Absolutely... how you couldn't believe! After we finished both sandwiches (sans fries or onion rings) and went down two big sodas and additional pimples, we were really very happy with what we have achieved. I don't think we ate the rest of the day, in fact, after this filling and delicious meal. Looking for a great diner-style farewell? Go to Johnnie's Pastrami. There is a reason why this landmark has been there for so long. From their burgers to their pastrami sandwiches, we do not know how to go wrong here.
