"I just had my first meal (breakfast) at J Gumbo's after driving by it many years. I purchased a Groupon for $20 worth of food and didn't find anyone who wanted to go to breakfast first thing in the morning so I went alone. I was let in the door prior to 8 am which is their start time and immediately given a nice cup of coffee. I ordered Debbie's Special eggs, corned beef hash, fried potatoes, grits and a bagel (I chose pumpernickel). That was way shy of $20 so I also ordered the Boudreaux Blueberry pancakes and some biscuits and gravy to go for my daughter at home. The meal was spectacular. I was absolutely satisfied with everything served and stuffed to the gills. I actually saved much of the food and ate it the next morning and was satisfied again. Natasha, the waitress is very friendly and observant towards your needs of filling your cup or bringing anything you may wish to have with your dish. Debbie and Bill are great cooks and also personable. Bill gave me a sample Benet which was as good or better than the ones you can eat in New Orleans. I look forward to start eating the lunch and dinner items. I have heard many people say they like J Gumbo's. NOW I do too. Thank you, Marvin for telling me so much about it recently."
