"We've been going to Putnam Inn for a few years, but what a find! We love this place! We never had a bad experience in this food! We took some family members for lunch on Saturday 7/2/16. The buffet changed from breakfast to lunch when we arrived. The lady who sat on us said it was about 10 minutes or so to be completely finished, so that we put our waitress, our beverage orders came. We have drinks in time. The buffet was ready for lunch within the time the lady said it was. I must say all raves about the fried chicken BUT let me say I tried the pox for the first time they were the bomb! I hardly needed a knife to cut it!! I have NIE pork chops in a restaurant, let alone on a buffet that soooo delicate had so good taste! WOW! I have read some mixed reviews about this place, but I can honestly say we never had a bad experience with the food, the staff or the decor of the dining room! The tables are clean, the buffet always seems clean, even the cutlery! Genuine cloth napkins for a buffet?! What a treat! I like the decor. Yeah, it's simple, but I'm here to eat the delicious food, not to decorate ideas. The fancier the facility the more you pay. The price for the buffet is very reasonable given the type of dishes served! Maybe we're not picky people, but I always leave this place with a good feeling! I say if you're starving here, it's your own fault! I wouldn't change anything here!"

"The experience was absolutely terrible from the moment we got there. First we had to find the host ourselves. I had a party of 20 people and the tables were not even ready even though the restaurant was empty. Our server was very forgetful and had an attitude when we asked him for condiments that came with our meals. Silverware was not on the table, we waited over 30 min for champagne glasses and our drinks. The coffee a friend ordered was cold, everyone’s food was also cold but at that point we were so over it we ate anyways. Oh by the way the food was absolutely terrible. The pork chop was nasty, the waffles were dry, even the eggs were trash. Luckily we were all so happy to see each other we enjoyed ourselves. But this was absolutely the worst experience of my life. The worst part is a lot of us at the table have been servers or hosts ourselves so we were very unimpressed and disappointed in the quality of service. We would never treat our customers this way. We still tipped him again even though gratuity was included because we know how it is. However , hopefully he will read this review and learn from this. You cannot be unorganized and treat people like they don’t matter."

"As a local, this is one of the most beautiful happy hour spots in all Brentwood. I've been dining here three times in July and the food always arrives in time, which is fresh and tasteful. I highly recommend to sit at the bar for the ultimate experience, as the staff goes constantly by checking on the guests to ensure happiness and they have received in all the happy hour orders for food and drinks. I love Ludlow and Prime. Ignore the crunchy reviews some have left and hear someone who lived here for 40 years. Great place!"

"funky vibe with a funky Southern style menu. offered include crust fish hushpuppies, garnel and grumbs, steamed mushles and milk coffee. we had both brewers burger who were cooked for perfection. it came with speck jam, salat, tomato and blue cheese crumbles their choice of the side. I chose rice and drilling. they also rented their own beer, I had moon peeps beer, which was a seasonal offer."

"Stopped by for a bite to eat; as they were flagging people in from the street. They were trying very hard to get your business. We got two **** Marys as they were on special. They were ok, but not our favorite. Wife only drank half of hers. We got a alligator and soft shell crab Po boys. The alligator sausage was like the times I've had before. Was my first time for soft shell crab... If my eyes were closed I couldn't tell you what it was. Tasted like a old bay, but that was it. Not sure what I was expecting, but I should have ordered something else. The two night caps we got after dinner were strong and perfect. It was kinda spendy for what it was."

"They were out of everything.. We had a party of 10 and they served us a charcuterie board without any crackers. When I asked about the crackers he said they were out of crackers, so I asked, why did you serve us a cheeseboard that needed crackers and he didn’t tell us before we ordered cheese boards. Grilled oysters were cold the seafood tower was good but the steaks multiple people had to send steaks back because they were not cooked or over cooked . We were the only party there by 7:30 and it seemed like they were trying to rush is at the door . I would be surprised that place is open this time next year."

"It was mix of feelings for my party of 20... Those who had fresh or grilled food were happy with their meals, but those who had fried items were disappointed. I think the roasted oil was old and burned, which tastes bad. I had the fish and chips and the fish was very dark oily and tastefully burned. My side of mixed vegetables was really good and was the only thing I ate. I don't like throwing food away, but I couldn't force myself to eat the oily burnt food."

"The menu and information/ events posted on their website is FALSE or completely outdated and therefore NOT what you 'll actually experience as a patron. And don 't waste your time trying to call to get information from them prior to your visit. Calling the number provided is completely useless. I tried 6x over two days! They never answer, return calls Nor do they respond to emailed inquiries (which I tried as well). My group and I went for a birthday dinner. We hoped to enjoy certain menu items because we saw them on the website but when we got to the restaurant NONE of those items were available. We also thought we 'd enjoy a live Jazz music session or at best some sort of entertainment/music (as was posted on their website) but when we got there and inquired, we were informed that they hadn 't offered entertainment in MONTHS. Seems to me like that should 've been sufficient time to update the website. Perhaps, the false advertisement is intentional and designed to hook bait you. Not sure. It was also very cold in there, which made for an uncomfortable dining experience on top of everything else. There were two small personal heaters oscillating to provide heat for a HUGE space. The group at a table not far from ours ended up having to turn one of the 2 heaters directly onto them because [like us] they felt no heat when it was in oscillating mode. I really wish I had a better experience and better things to say because 'aesthetically ' the restaurant is very nice. Unfortunately they need to work on their management and everything else. Based on what we saw on the website we were all very excited about going here. The food, the ambiance and the entertainment all seemed so attractive. Unfortunately they fell very short."

"Expectation was a restaurant-like atmosphere (vs kitchen) and a more intimate environment like most French restaurants. The menu was limited and the wine choices were below average. One of the red wines we ordered had been open for appx. a week per the waiter and it was awful. And the foods flavors were so-so. We loved that the chef came out and was so engaging. He's truly passionate about teaching his students. For Le Bistro to compete with all of the French restaurants in Houston, they really need to amp up the game in each area."

"We literally shut the restaurant down! Everything we ordered was so delicious we had to try one more thing, and we were laughing with the staff for hours. We had champagne toasts, homemade biscuits, and a chilled cauliflower soup that made me reconsider not being a vegetarian full time. This was the perfect place for a girl's night out to reconnect with old friends, escape the Nola heat and have full bellies before a night out on the town. Would go back again in a heartbeat!"

"This review is specifically in regards to their Sunday brunch. The food is good but not the best. On the menu at says you get a fruit cup with your entree but we did not receive that. We or told it came with a biscuit. We ended up getting the biscuit after we finished our meals when the waiter asked if we wanted some fresh jam with it, of course we said yes. I was surprised when he brought out packets of Smucker's grape jelly. I also noticed the biscuits were from a can rather than homemade. The service was very slow for the number of people in the room compared to the wait staff. I don't mind waiting for good food but I expect the drink refills more regularly to the point or you don't have an empty glass. Overall for the price point the service and food did not match."
