"The Shop Is it a deli? Is it a restaurant? Is it both? Is the food great? Yes. The Shop had been on my radar and even though Ardsley is twenty minutes away, it feels like you have driven into different dimension, possibly The Shire? And it is also on the border of Dobb’s Ferry, which makes it even more confusing. I just looked at a map and it comes as no surprise that it also borders an area called Woodlands. We visited The Shop during the day and I was a little confused because it was definitely shouting deli vibes even though the left side of the space is furnished beautifully the chairs, tables and booths are so nice and the deli side is nice too very clean and organized, but definitely a deli. The daytime menu reads like a deli/diner so I asked to see the night time menu. Not deli like. (Cannot wait to return for dinner. How was the food? Excellent. You could taste that there is either a chef behind it or some seriously seasoned cooks. My husband and I shared a Reuben. I had a clam chowder. Our son ordered choc chip pancakes and our daughter a smoothie! EVERYTHING was delicious. I am not a pancake person for health reasons and because most take me back to Bisquick and high school home ec. I kept stealing bites from my kid’s pancakes. The clam chowder was bacon-forward and delicious. Silky. I just used this word to describe the amazing shrimp and corn chowder that I had at Go Fish. The difference between a cafeteria chowder and a cheffie chowder is flour. A well-executed chowder should not feel like hot clammy floury milk. Guys Ardsley is happening. Many of you already know this so forgive me for being late to the party. A few notable places are Umami sushi (real sushi bar featuring omakase , Neung Thai Kitchen (BYO booze and very soon, hopefully, the famous Liebman’s deli! Please share your own favorites below. (p.s. I have been here ONCE take everyone’s opinion with a grain of salt. Try it for yourself. — at At The Shop. (From Westchester Foodies in FB a 100% community of cooks and eaters. 17k and growing."
