"Perhaps I will be in my old too picky, but on Monday night there were only 8 guests in the entire kitchen in this restaurant, so I thought we could get a special treatment or at least a great service? . I asked how cold the beer was, and when I received a warm reaction, I asked if I could order a beer in a chilled glass. our server said that they would have cooled hot glasses, so if I ordered that certain beer could get a chilled glass. So I ordered a heineken. the server came back and told me that it's hot, so I asked if they could serve me a stella in a chilled glass. the answer was that no, the cooled glasses are reserved for heineken. do you understand my frustration? I chose a stella in a glass that they tried to cool by swirling ice in it. this method works for a few seconds and then dies quickly. I don't know why this beer here seemed a bit warmer or two warmer than it should be. Maybe the keg wasn't long enough in the cooler. at least we ordered appies zucchini chips and calamari, both of which were well followed by our meals. my wife gnocchi in pesto sauce was described by her as average. I would describe my gb o with ananas as well. the friend of my sohnes said that his ZEP pizza was delicious, so that was good. my sohn ordered gnocchi in tomato sauce with no cheese, as he cannot eat cheese. the server neglected to order it without a cheese, brought it out and had to return it to the kitchen, which means that my son had to wait an additional 8 10 minutes to get his meal. we were finished eating our food when he was served, and then he also described his gnocchi as average."

"Expectations weren’t nearly what I assumed one of the most well-regarded Italian restaurants in the city would be. Service was good and the food came out promptly…but flavor wise, I was pretty let-down.Tried the fig flatbread, which had the makings to be great, but the honey drizzled on top was so sweet and overpowering, that you couldn’t really taste anything but sweet/candy. Dish needed salt/acidic bite to really balance the savory aspect. For entrees, we both tried the eggplant parmigiana after great reviews. The spaghetti pesto side was decent. The eggplant parmigiana again, was incredibly overpowered by a syrupy-sweet balsamic drizzle on top, and the tomato sauce was also pretty sugary. I just felt like the entire meal was a mash of sweet, when a good parmigiana dish should have tang and acid to break through the fried and fatty flavors of the breading and pasta. I wanted to add salt, but I shouldn’t be needing to salt my foot at one or Columbus’ highest esteemed restaurants lol.I guess I should have looked at the menu better before, but there were so many weird sweet corn, leek, raisins, capers, onion cream sauce(?? etc. in so many Italian dishes that I would have never expected to be there. Again, on me for expecting a more traditional and not such a creative/American twist. Not going to rate under 4-stars however, because the atmosphere and service was good, and the ingredients were at least very fresh. It’s not bad food, I just…expected better flavors."
