"I have been to Maya many times . I was here for the bottomless brunch today and had an amazing experience. The standout food items were the Chicken Fajitas, Maya Dogs, Shrimp Enchiladas, Sweet Plantains, and the Mini Waffles. I opted to have the Maya Mimosa which is a delicious combination of blood orange and passion fruit purée mixed with sparkling wine. Andrew our server went above and beyond. He made excellent suggestions and kept our glasses full!"

"An all-around nice spot in Beverly Hills to grab some good Mexican food and drinks. The atmosphere is open with a welcoming yet refined ambiance. The service was super friendly and attentive too. The food is on the pricier side, but pretty tasty and a good stop between shopping in the area. They have daily lunch specials from 11 to 4 pm and AYCE Sunday Brunch for about $50 with a Bottomless Mimosa add-on for another $25. Very tempting, but I'd probably get kicked out of the stores after being blitz. Anyways, I came here for lunch and tried their Maracuya and Watermelon Mojito for drinks. The Maracuya was an all around good cocktail with the smoky mezcal. I asked for it a little spicy and they added some jalapeños for me. The Watermelon Mojito was like summer. Very juicy, sweet, and bright! For food, they are known for their guacamole so definitely went with that. It came with a citrusy green salsa and a smokey hot red. Pretty good and great for sharing. Really fresh guac that is light and airy being a good mix between chunky and smooth. I also got their Mole Poblano. Super delish and highly recommended! The mole was sweet and deep with smoky notes. It was served over some shredded chicken that was cooked percectly! It came with some rice, plantains, and tortillas to build a taco. Really good mix of carbs! I enjoyed every bite and would get it again. All in all, I enjoyed this place! Aside it being a bit pricy, it had good service, food, and ambiance!"

"Do not discount Hugo's. This is an higher end resto known for its delicious authentic Mexican food (supposedly George Bush Sr's favourite restaurant). Their menu is primarily meat but they have a whole page of their menu dedicated to vegetarian options (also half the price of the meat dishes). Vegan options are listed on their printed menu (not online). Most have cheese but they were really accommodating to make my meal vegan. Their veg platter plate was delicious. I had to swap a few items but I loved the fresh veg options. Of note, their refried beans are not vegan but if you call in advance they can make a vegan batch for you (they told me it would take a 30 minute lead time). Recommended."

"HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Husband made reservations for 4 in March for two special birthdays, he made them directly on the restaurant 's website. We arrived at our designated time and were told that we had no reservations! Then when we showed them our confirmation emails, the women at the front desk told us that someone had moved them to the following week at 8 pm. How stupid did they think we were? They told us they would not have a table until 8 pm (no surprise! matches their line about the new time and we refused to budge. So they brought us downstairs to their new space where they comped our appetizers and drinks, as they should, however, we did not order much considering we were waiting for what we thought would be great meals. The manager came down at 8 pm to take us to our table. The food on the tasting menus was good, however, the SERVICE LEFT MUCH TO BE DESIRED and the time between the very small portions was too long. In the two hours that we sat the server asked us ONCE if we wanted drinks. My husband brought a drink up from downstairs and the glass sat on the table for two hours. Why should we have to remind a server in a 5 star restaurant to remove a dirty glass? At the end, which was already after 10 pm, we complained to the manager and I can not believe how useless he was. All he said was thanks for your comments. We spent over $500 (only had a margarita and a beer at dinner and that 's what we get? A worthless comment? The manager, knowing what happened to us, should have AT LEAST comped our two measly drinks. RICK BAYLESS SHOULD BE ASHAMED. Never again, save your money! For a 5 star restaurant the service and the way we were treated was totally unacceptable."

"We had dined at Frida on two other occassions in the last month and figured it would be a great place to take mom on Saturday for Mother’s Day (Since Mexican people always celebrate Mother’s Day on the 10th . The prior two occasions I had tried 2 separate dishes and welcomed the opportunity to share my taste with my family. I recommended a dish to mom and dad and my wife proceeded to order something new to try out. The meal was described as a “filet mignon butterflied accompanied by customary sides including a mole enchilada”. To our surprise the plate was brought out with “Skirt Steak”. When I informed the waiter he said that he would get one of the lead persons. I spoke to the lead person and proceeded to point out the difference between skirt steak which was on my wife’s plate and filet mignon which was on dad’s plate. He said that he would get the manager. The manager proceeded to come to the table and ask if there was a problem, to which I replied there was no problem that we just wanted to get charged the apporpriate price for skirt steak (which a similar plate was available on the menu. The manager assured me that there would be no problem to go ahead and enjoy our dinner. We proceeded to finish our dinner and receive a bill that had the incorrect price based on the manager’s concession. When I approached the manager regarding the bill error he proceeded to inform me that there was no error and that skirt steak and filet mignon are the same cut of beef just prepared different. I told him that skirt steak and filet mignon come from different parts of the cow. I told him that I wasn’t trying to get something for free and that I was pleased with the meal that it just didn’t seem fair paying filet mignon priced entree when skirt steak was offered and reminded him that he had already agreed to the price at our table. The manager seemed disturbed by my questioning and didn’t seem pleased with giving me a fair price. He finally made the adjustment but I don’t think he ever understood why he made it. The manager has very poor negotiation skills and customer service skills, let alone any knowledge of beef cuts and food preparation."

"Came for an early Saturday dinner. It was still early enough that was not too hot to sit outside, especially because it is fully covered with fans. There are about 10 tables on the terrace, but it was only half full. Service was very fast to bring water and take the drinks and appetizers orders. Started with the Fish Ceviche and the Tostada Sampler. Cantarito, Pina Colada and Maestro Chispa ordered drinks. Drinks and appetizers all came within 10 minutes. The drinks were big, especially the Cantarito. They all had a nice balance of alcohol and sweetness. The appetizers were really good. The fish cuke had many large pieces of fresh fish. The Tostada Sampler was a beautiful variety of 5 different Tostadas. Everyone had a unique taste that went well together with the other ingredients. Be sure to eat it quite quickly as they become soggy from all the juice. For meals, the Mojarra Frita, all Octopus, Fish Taco Plate, and Pacifica Taco Plate. They all came out within 15 minutes and was very fresh and hot. They were all good with my favorites of the octopus and fish tacos. All seafood was fresh and served in large portions. To close the meal, the Flan de Elote and Tres Leches ordered. I prefer the Flan de Elote something, because it was more unique, but the Tres Leches was also good. Overall, good service and food."

"I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. My husband made reservations for four people in March for a special occasion, directly on the restaurant's website. When we arrived at our scheduled time, we were informed that there were no reservations under our name. Despite showing them our confirmation emails, the staff claimed that our reservation had been moved to the following week at 8 pm. We refused to accept this and after some discussion, they finally seated us in their new space downstairs. The appetizers and drinks were complimentary, but we didn't order much as we were waiting for our main meals. The service was lacking, with long waits between small portions on the tasting menus. The server only asked us once if we wanted drinks during the two-hour meal, and a dirty glass sat on the table for the entire time. When we complained to the manager, he offered only a cursory thanks for our feedback. We spent over $500 for the meal, and received no compensation for the poor service. We were extremely disappointed in the way we were treated, and I would not recommend this restaurant. The manager should have at least comped our drinks in light of the situation. Rick Bayless should be ashamed of the service provided at this establishment. Save your money and avoid dining here."

"I have been visiting this place for years time to time. There is no question about the quality and autencity of the food here (my favorite is the Shrimp Fajitas). The downside for me is that the place more and more becomeing a bar instead of a traditional Mexican restaurant. The music is very loud (some kind of Latin American Rock and Roll) makes it very hard to have a conversation with your table partners. The after pandemic crew is very friendly, but obviously in lack of experience (they will get better as times go by, I have no doubt about it. I also appreciate the tap beers."
