"An all-around nice spot in Beverly Hills to grab some good Mexican food and drinks. The atmosphere is open with a welcoming yet refined ambiance. The service was super friendly and attentive too. The food is on the pricier side, but pretty tasty and a good stop between shopping in the area. They have daily lunch specials from 11 to 4 pm and AYCE Sunday Brunch for about $50 with a Bottomless Mimosa add-on for another $25. Very tempting, but I'd probably get kicked out of the stores after being blitz. Anyways, I came here for lunch and tried their Maracuya and Watermelon Mojito for drinks. The Maracuya was an all around good cocktail with the smoky mezcal. I asked for it a little spicy and they added some jalapeños for me. The Watermelon Mojito was like summer. Very juicy, sweet, and bright! For food, they are known for their guacamole so definitely went with that. It came with a citrusy green salsa and a smokey hot red. Pretty good and great for sharing. Really fresh guac that is light and airy being a good mix between chunky and smooth. I also got their Mole Poblano. Super delish and highly recommended! The mole was sweet and deep with smoky notes. It was served over some shredded chicken that was cooked percectly! It came with some rice, plantains, and tortillas to build a taco. Really good mix of carbs! I enjoyed every bite and would get it again. All in all, I enjoyed this place! Aside it being a bit pricy, it had good service, food, and ambiance!"

"a culinary adventure that they will never forget. topolobampo is the high point of authentic Mexican cuisine, and the absolutely best restaurant in chicago. to begin, we were served some appetizers that do not add an additional perk on the menu just to warm us up. a beautiful, warm tortilla soup in a small sippable glass, with a tiny chip and guacamole and spicy empanada on the side. woke my taste buds to get ready what was going on. I was nervous to go to the tasting menu. not because I didn't like the menu, but because I have food allergies that I felt would limit my experience. young, I was wrong. by telling them about my allegiances, the staff took me by going beyond and beyond. for example, instead of curly butter in cocoss sauce, I was served with crispy cauliflower with a squash sauce. delicious, as if I could eat it every day for the rest of my life. other tasting articles were just as perfect. to name some: soft pork in a creamy tomato sauce; Chinese noodles with tasty aubergine in a spicy sauce, Mexican fusion style; and of course the best for last dessert! a fluffy Dutch pastry with sweeter saw and cheese, followed by Mexican chocolate, which is covered with folds and a special surprise to go bag of donuts and hot chocolate mix. from my experience I can confidently say that this place is a jewel. it is a shade in chicago. go here and you won't regret it. Hopefully they will appreciate it and do what they can enjoy, just like me. chef bayless and the topolo team for an unforgettable experience."

"HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Husband made reservations for 4 in March for two special birthdays, he made them directly on the restaurant 's website. We arrived at our designated time and were told that we had no reservations! Then when we showed them our confirmation emails, the women at the front desk told us that someone had moved them to the following week at 8 pm. How stupid did they think we were? They told us they would not have a table until 8 pm (no surprise! matches their line about the new time and we refused to budge. So they brought us downstairs to their new space where they comped our appetizers and drinks, as they should, however, we did not order much considering we were waiting for what we thought would be great meals. The manager came down at 8 pm to take us to our table. The food on the tasting menus was good, however, the SERVICE LEFT MUCH TO BE DESIRED and the time between the very small portions was too long. In the two hours that we sat the server asked us ONCE if we wanted drinks. My husband brought a drink up from downstairs and the glass sat on the table for two hours. Why should we have to remind a server in a 5 star restaurant to remove a dirty glass? At the end, which was already after 10 pm, we complained to the manager and I can not believe how useless he was. All he said was thanks for your comments. We spent over $500 (only had a margarita and a beer at dinner and that 's what we get? A worthless comment? The manager, knowing what happened to us, should have AT LEAST comped our two measly drinks. RICK BAYLESS SHOULD BE ASHAMED. Never again, save your money! For a 5 star restaurant the service and the way we were treated was totally unacceptable."

"She ordered a meal described as a "butterflied filet mignon accompanied by typical sides, including a mole enchilada." To our surprise, what was brought to the table was skirt steak. When I informed the waiter, he said he would fetch someone senior. The lead person arrived, and I pointed out the difference between the skirt steak on my wife’s plate and the filet mignon on my dad’s plate. He promised to get the manager. The manager came over and asked if there was a problem. I clarified that there was no issue; we just wanted to ensure we were charged the correct price for the skirt steak, which was listed on the menu as a similar dish. The manager assured us it would be taken care of and told us to enjoy our dinner. After finishing our meal, we received a bill that still had the incorrect pricing based on the manager's earlier concession. When I brought this to the manager's attention, he claimed there was no error and that skirt steak and filet mignon were the same cut of beef, just prepared differently. I explained that they come from different parts of the cow and that I wasn’t trying to get something for free; I was simply trying to get a fair price for the dish we received. I reminded him that he had already agreed to adjust the price at our table. The manager appeared frustrated by my inquiry and seemed reluctant to offer a fair resolution. Eventually, he made the adjustment, but I doubt he ever truly understood the rationale behind it. His customer service and negotiation skills left much to be desired, and he clearly lacked knowledge about beef cuts and food preparation."
