"The gentleman who was hosting was awesome...given the weather he asked if we would like a table inside rather than the one we had reserved for 11am outside. He placed us at a super nice table [52/1] by the window and handed us off to Rico. Rico delivered a great vibe table-side, along with a good sense of humor, and made my two out of town guests feel like they were part of his family...total [out of the ballpark] home run, Rico! Screaming kiddo's made the scene a bit chaotic [hence my lowered rating], but if I could be so lucky to have the host and Rico my next time in, I'd say the heck with the screaming kids, and book a reservation right now!"

"As locals we try to like this place. It is a cool venue. However, we have had more times with issues of one type or another than good ones. We've probably been in about 10 times in the p[ast 1.5 years. Probably 3 great visits. They seem to have trouble smoothly processing drink orders, our appetizers were delivered and finished before we got our pitcher, after we flagged down another server. Not the first time. Food has been inconsistent as well, sometimes perfect, sometimes late or incorrect. The place will do alright, as it is a sports watching destination for folks from out of town, but there are better, more consistent dining spots in El Segundo."

"San Francisco icon on the Embaracdero. I wish they had shades on the windows facing the Bay Bridge, only because the glare made it difficult to see, but that is all that I noticed. I like the clubby nature of the restaurant, white table cloths which were great. Harkened back to my days at Perry 's on Union Street a la Tales of the City. Thanks for the memories!"

"The chef has changed, and the once-popular dishes are no longer the same. The meatballs were served without the small orrechiette pasta, which was quite disappointing. During my last visit, the best bartender had resigned, so unfortunately, Chris and Rosie are no longer there, and the bar atmosphere has shifted. The pasta has been re-added to the meatball dish, but it was watery, and the meatballs were tough and gray. Overall, it was a major letdown! If people vote with their feet, the empty tables tell the whole story. It's truly sad to see our favorite restaurant undergo such a transformation."

"We had a great experience here for lunch on a Monday. Great service from an attentive, helpful and friendly staff. You can tell that a lot of thought and care goes into everything they serve. "In the last night of our vacation, as we wandered around DC all day, we were starved and my husband was hungry for a steak and a baked potato. We had settled in another restaurant, but soon they found out that they did not recommend their steak this night and were OUT of baked potatoes. He was open and found Joes. We were not dressed for a chic restaurant like Joe’s, but the staff immediately felt at home anyway. We had the most delicious meals we had at the age. Filet mignon and a potato the size of Idaho for hubby, salmon au poive and asparagus for me. Before I had never ordered a $25 glass of wine, but it was so good, I swear it was as if I had two. The only drawback was the long staircase up to the toilets, but even then the view was so beautiful with a view of the room below. Also note the perfect music they played for dinner. Recommend this place for a big splurge."
