"we thoroughly enjoyed our meal at kuro. we are huge fans of nobu, but we felt that most of the dishes we tried at kuro were even better than nobu's. and the service was excellent we only wished that there were more items on the menu and, i must say, the pricing on the wine list was really high!"

"I recently visited Izakaya Takasei and had a mixed experience.My boyfriend and I ordered the takoyaki, chicken cutlet and egg rice bowl, several yakitori, takowasabi (raw octopus with wasabi), and the Kobe beef roll. While the takoyaki and yakitori were delicious, the chicken cutlet and egg rice bowl was really bland. The Kobe beef roll was a bit odd with the combination of garlic butter and tataki sauce. Unfortunately, there were also a few items on the menu that were no longer available, which was a bit disappointing. It would be good for the restaurant to update their menu to avoid any confusion or disappointments.While the food at Izakaya Takasei comes out quickly, this can also be a double-edged sword. During my visit, my boyfriend and I received several dishes at once, which meant that a lot of our food was sitting out and getting cold while we were eating the others. It would be great if the kitchen could pace the dishes better to ensure that everything is served at the optimal temperature.The service was a bit lackluster as well. The only time we were able to ask for condiments, utensils, and more water was when the employees brought our food out. No one checked on us throughout our meal, and it would have been nice to have a more attentive staff.On the plus side, the restaurant has nice Japanese decor and is quite spacious. However, there was no background music, which made the ambiance a bit dull.Overall, while there were some drawbacks, Izakaya Takasei may be worth checking out if you're in the area and in the mood for some Japanese cuisine. Just be sure to join the wait-list on Yelp beforehand and check in with the host when you arrive."

"Part of me wants to keep this hidden gem all to myself, but the other part knows that when you encounter something really special, you have to share it. Umami Sushi is incredibly unassuming but the food and service is top notch. We love coming here with- and without- our kids, and can confidently say it’s one of the best Omakase experiences we’ve ever had. I promise you won’t be disappointed! "This restaurant is located in the same building as the Courtyard by Marriott. The restaurant was clean and had a great atmosphere. My server (Mackenzie) was amazing and very knowledgeable. She has worked at the restaurant for four years and offered great suggestions. I had a hibiscus spiked margarita, the spicy edamame, an Alaskan roll, and a Rainbow roll. Food presentation was beautiful. I would recommend everything but the margarita. I just wasn't a fan of the after taste."

"I'm torn, my wife and I came here last year to our anniversary and it was absolutely fantastic. This time around them was a little less, so they put us on a dirty table and then wiped it off, brushed all the crumbs in the stand before us, so the table was wet and the seats were dirty. They also stayed fruit flies, not only one, but about five. Our waitress was fantastic, not too imposing, but super attentive. The other staff was less professional, one of them went to the booth when I got up to clean it, and ran right into me without even looking back or even saying anything. All the food and drinks have not changed at all, I still enjoyed it very much. But it felt like I was in a chili serving sushi."

"The staff here are very kind. Especially the sushi chefs behind the bar. No complaints with the staff at all. The restaurant is clean. However, the only reason I gave 3 stars was because after eating here my husband and I weren’t feeling well. Ourstomachs were so upset. We shared two rolls between the two of us…the Boston roll and jingle bell roll. Not sure if fish wasbad but we weren’t well that evening and in the bathroom a lot."

"What can I say we waited about 20 minutes just to get something to drink then we waited another 20 minutes just to get a menu then we waited like about 40 minutes just to get our food it was a horrible wait they could have at least given us something to munch on while we were waiting for our food I would not recommend this restaurant"
"Appetizers were the best part. Sushi was subpar and hibachi entrees with filet mignon, shrimp, chicken were bland and way too overpriced. Drinks are ok. Had my anniversary dinner there as it was our first time there and wanted to try something new, but it disappointed. Ended up going to del friscos next door afterwards."

"I was surprised they had last minute availability on a Friday night until we arrived and stood at the door ignored for 5 minutes along with several other guests before finally seeking out a host. Once seated we waited forever until finally flagging down a waiter to take our order. The water was nice but the location didn’t seem to very well run or organized despite the food being pretty good."

"I go into Sushi Maki on Sunset once or twice a week. I love everyone and everything about this place. Julia and Cecile have been taking such great care of me with dine in or takeout. I love their bento boxes the chicken Teriyaki is one of my favorites . Julia just got me hooked on the Whole Foods Roll… soooo good. Cecile is amazing she is the cutest person ever. The sushi chef’s are great , the food is always excellent. I have always had the best experience when ever I go there. The vibe is always chill and cozy. I love you guys! Thanks for taking such great care of me. Btw…. It’s not just me, I see how they take care of everybody!! Great service!"

"RA was an attractive and enticing restaurant on the I Drive Strip. The menu was comprehensive providing many choices of sushi, sashimi, and cooked Asian dishes. We had several of the rolls, and the Tuna Poke. Everything was delicious. Service was excellent. We went back again before we left town."

"The restaurant did not honor our request to be seated at the sushi bar and instead placed us between two noisy and disruptive patrons in a nearly empty restaurant. The waiter took 15 minutes to bring a beer, only to inform us after reminding him that they were out of stock. We were also charged for a dish that we never received and had to request it be removed from our bill. Overall, the experience was disappointing and frustrating."
