"Early in the day we tried booking a reservation online but they were already booked for the night! We took our chances and went anyway to see how long we would have to wait until we were seated. We ended up waiting half an hour which was pretty reasonable considering how packed the place was! <br/ <br/ Although there is definitely an urban vibe to Angeline’s it is also incredibly warm and comfortable. Despite being busy we could still hear each other speak despite the crowd.<br/ <br/ The sparkling strawberry lemonade was absolutely worth the $4! So delicious. My sister's root beer was also very good. We ordered the hush puppies with honey butter to share between us, as well as the Grilled Boudin traditional Cajun pork with rice sausage and Creole mustard and arugula. The sausage was delicious and quite spicy but those hush puppies? My word they were outstanding! Crispy on the outside, light and fluffy but with that cornmeal bite in the centre and the honey butter oozing on top. Divine! A great way to start.<br/ <br/ I finally had my first Po’Boy and it came with a spicy potato salad. I got the shrimp Po’Boy and asked for them to hold the hot sauce but keep the Creole mustard and it worked perfect. The shrimp were super crispy and the overall sandwich absolutely delicious and quite filling.<br/ <br/ My sisters both ordered the buttermilk fried chicken with ginger-vanilla sweet potato mash, tasso ham cream gravy and Blue Lake green beans with parmesan. I had considered getting it as well but I was worried the sweet potato mash would be too sweet for me. One shared her fried chicken with me and it was perfection and that mash? Delicious. Justin was in heaven with his meat fest the Cajun Mixed Grill. Everything was so good.<br/ <br/ I was a little nervous about going to Angeline’s Louisiana Kitchen because I thought the food would be too spicy for me but man, am I ever glad we went. They accommodated my lack of spice tolerance (although I think I did quite well with the Creole mustard) and the food was absolutely fantastic.<br/ <br/ This place is definitely worth the wait. Warm and cozy atmosphere, comfort food that will heal the soul and even the soft drinks are divine."
