"Finally made it to Daddy D 's and now I feel as though I 've cheated myself for not going sooner. My trifecta is good food, served by good folks, at good prices and Daddy D 's exceeded expectations. I went for catfish, but didn 't realize they had a buffet so I was treated to fish, chicken, and pork chops. I 'm a fan of the fish chicken but when served a pork chop fresh from the kitchen I had to try it, and it was the best bite of my meal. For sides I 'm usually good with collards and mac n cheese, but they had lots more. Rice and gravy, black eyes, yams, tater salad, but the pintos got my attention. A bowl of pintos with their cornbread would 've been a fine meal on it 's own! If this type of food is your thing you gotta go check them out! Parking and access is tough right now due to construction, and after speaking to them today it 's clear that the ongoing construction is a challenge for them as business is way down. Construction was supposed to be complete last month, but now the target is November and from looking at the mess I saw today I 'm not sure that 's realistic. So...if you want to enjoy a great meal, meet some nice folks, and help a local business navigate a tough time head over to Daddy D 's. Don 't miss the pork chop...and no matter how much you eat on the buffet, don 't skip dessert cuz the apple pie is worth it! : P.S. Sunday features an expanded buffet and dessert is included!"
