"Honestly if I could give this restaurant 0/5 stars, I would. We ordered the Kodari Jjim, menu item S10 (Dried pollocks and bean sprouts steamed in spicy sauce). When we came home and opened our order, we saw there were three pieces of pollack with barely any meat, the majority of the dish being bean sprouts and dduk. This is a large dish, the size of a catering tray. It’s supposed to come with lots of fish, enough to feed 4 people. At every other restaurant in the area, this dish comes packed with both fish and bean sprouts. We called the restaurant, obviously disappointed in the standard of ingredients. When we explained the situation, the manager rudely asked us, “if the food isn’t good, why didn’t you go somewhere else?” instead of offering a solution, like re-making the dish for us or giving us a refund. In fact, he insisted that he made our order himself and it definitely included 10 pieces of fish. It didn’t. To add insult to injury, he told us if we wanted a refund, we needed to bring the dish back to the restaurant. We live far north of the restaurant, 40 minutes away. We used to go to Chung Ki Wa because our family likes to enjoy Korean food, but our neighborhood has a limited offering of Asian restaurants in the area. The fact that the manager was insensitive to this situation and only offered a refund if we were to bring the dish back was disheartening, since we’ve been going out of our way to dine at their restaurant for years. We felt so disrespected as repeat customers, and will definitely not be going back. The quality of food at this restaurant has vastly gone down, and any future diners would be better off at Dae Jang Geum or Hangook Kwan. I recommend you steer clear"

"Before you come here you need to know that they AUTOMATICALLY add tip/gratuity to your bill regardless of your party. It is somewhere in the 16-17%. I was with only one other person. This is NOT said anywhere on the menu once you get it.Once you’ve understand that, know that the service here is really iffy. The young servers are fantastic (I would say the bussers and not the servers). The problem is the upper management, or rather, the owners of the establishment. They are stern/rude, only give short answers and they just want you to place your order. You will pay a high price for a low portion sized meal and for a Korean cuisine this is actually unheard of and a slap in the face as a fellow Korean. The banchons (authentic korean side dishes that automatically come with the meal) are significantly bland with the exception of their kimchi. If you want a more authentic, well respected establishment, I recommend Cafe Korea in Carmel/Fishers area. Same price range if not more, however, you will find the service to be exceptional and the food to be satisfactory and the portion size definitely well met.Mama’s Korean restaurant near Lawrence/Indianapolis area is even better than this place although don’t expect the service there to be exceptional.Yes this nation is facing inflation. Yes cost of living is hire. However this doesn’t constitute short portion size meal for the high price you are paying and a low-average service.Read the other reviews here carefully and consider your option. Go somewhere else."
