"There is an unspoken culinary rule: the smaller the restaurant, the larger the portions. And it definitely holds true here. This is a small and simple Asian restaurant, serving, as the name implies, Chinese and Vietnamese food. There's both tables and window-facing tall chairs, and the place can get surprisingly busy for lunch. I tried the spicy beef Pho, and it was a solid choice. Nice presentation, fresh vegetables, textbook Pho. I was slightly surprised by the portion size: thankfully I hadn't had breakfast, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to finish it in one sitting! Prices are alright, especially for the location by the financial district. Solid lunch choice."

"we eat at least once a week at andy and yu. one of our favorites is huh and snow drown. when we arrived home, we noticed that the chicken and snow bean dish has 75% snowblow and 25% hawn. that was not the worst of it, the snow bases were limp and soggy. I called the restaurant and shared our experience and let them know we were disappointed. the employee who answered the phone had no concern that our order was not satisfactory. no apologies and no care. later this evening we both raised the feeling of being very ill, similar to a bad fall of the flu. this could only be attributed to the food. unnecessary to say that we don’t return to andy Yu’s!"

"Pretty good for west coast Chinese. I miss NE Chinese comfort food eggs rolls arrived crispy just not much flavor. Chow Mein was ok, ordered the beef with was tender but the noodles needed more garlic/flavor. Sweet Sour Chicken was good right amount of crispy and balanced sauce."

"This restaurant was fantastic. I had the Beef, Pad Thai. I ordered it Thai spicy which was the spiciest level. I also ordered it withe extra meat. Ordering extra meat is generally a good idea, and was well worth the small surcharge. It was truly a wonderful flavor and consistency. I also had the Thai iced tea, which was delightful. I did not have room for desert, but the fried banana comes highly recommended, and just sounds wonderful."

"The service here is very interesting... Rude service but I did not care! The food makes up for the lack of service here! It is worth the yelling at and getting talk back in Chinese. (Which, I really did not care.. This place is like a hole in the wall and you know the dumplings will be amazing. The price tag is decent compare to Trendy Dumplings near Kirby. (Better service over there and cleaner 2) I would go back here for the dumplings and the lack of guest service. Brings a smile to my face."

"While I don't know exactly when this site was opened, House of Joy has been here for a long time. After I grew up my whole life in Glendale, I remember that many, many family dinners are the house of joy at the Pacific Ave, and until today they are still there. First, House of Joy is a Chinese and Korean fusion restaurant, so if you are looking for authentic Chinese food, I would recommend driving to Chinatown. This place is operated by Koreans, but also has a lot to offer. My court is definitely Beijing Chicken. This is just my opinion, but her Beijing chicken is the same with San Tung's chicken. The chicken is soaked in sweet and spicy sauce and remains crispy for a while. I would recommend this court to everyone. Your jjajangmyun and jjangppong must also have. These dishes are what makes or breaks Chinese Korea Fusion restaurants. While House of Joy does not make the best jjajang or jjanpong dishes, I would say it is quite solid. While it could be inevitable in view of the pandemic, I would try to eat in the restaurant, vs. take. Talking about the experience, Chinese food does not really travel well, so the quality of food drops after about 15-20 minutes trip. The only disadvantage of this place is its interior. It has not modernized tables or furniture so that the ambience as you are in an old Chinese restaurant of the school."
