"Housed in the historic district's train station, Maynard's is a standout for its appealing location and dimensional menu. Part of the Hotel Congress, which is directly across the street, the restaurant has smooth service from hostess stand to table, with the feel that the waitstaff are doing this as a career, not a side job. The mains were well prepared (salmon with sourdough spaetzle and beets and porkbelly with grits and kale), and the house-made focaccia was an unexpected star of the show. The only minor criticism would be for the staff to slow down the pacing of the meal and dish removal a bit, so courses don't arrive in quick succession and plates aren't cleared the minute the fork drops. Perfect place to enjoy a romantic evening or entertain guests."
