"Beautiful place, phenomenal food! Huge portions. We did feel very rushed by the waitress. We were still eating as the waitstaff asked to wrap up our food for take home and at the same time handed us a dessert menu. We had to ask them to please slow down and let us finish. Otherwise definitely a 5 star restaurant!!! Will ALWAYS return!"

"Since the Jefferson Diner was in the Food Network, the food is downhill while the prices have risen. I've been a lot to this diner. I'll never go there again today after this last trip. I met a friend there. She got a cup of Lobster Bisque soup a Hamburger Parmigiana plate with Fritten, she wanted waffleries so she was extra charged and I got a cheeseburger. No fries, nothing. It's $27.50. $27.50.??? This is a diner!! Not any place in the lower Manhattan!!!!!!!!!!!! The hamburgers were thick, but they were terrible."

"I hate writing reviews unless I have to but this place deserves it. The Jefferson diner used to be awesome and a great place to grab a bite until a few years ago there was a noticeable change. The prices got jacked up out the roof, the service got much worse, and the food is mid at best. The place got greedy and glides by now by their old reputation and the fact they were on tv a couple times. Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time here. There’s plenty of other better restaurants in the area."

"Good but in past everyone got Fideo soup even if al la cart and I even ordered ofvthe appetizer menu and got soup but our guest was denied. Also they were out of the cake that came with ice cream but substituted dessert did not and had to ask for that again. Frustrating but minor issues."

"Always a pleasure to come to the great escape because of their food selection. Their ribs are one of the best in Illinois, fall off the bone great barbecue sauce it’s a total winner. You must also try their French fried shrimp order broasted chicken both are a complement to the ribs and are delicious. Fred Ronden soup one of the best tray you’ll love it. Enjoy"

"Slices are filling and service is fast and friendly... as for the discs. the dough is dense, so expect a heavy slice. Kruste is not thick, but also dense.. The dough is resistant to chewing. Sauce is wet and on saucy side... but not as tasty as I want. Cheese is abundant with beautiful train and chewing. I filled mine with some pepper flakes and oregano and it tasted perfect. Pro Tip: Ask for lunch special: 2 slices and a can soda $6."

"Very satisfied with our experience here. First, the service was good and you can tell all the staff are pros. Nick is such a sweetheart and truly loved what he was doing (and he said the owners treat him well which is always great to hear). The food was fantastic! Definitely a top steak house in our opinion. The filet was so incredibly tender, well seasoned, and perfectly cooked. Honestly, top 1 or 2 steaks I've ever had. The garlic mashed potatoes are so buttery and yummy! Drink menu had many great selections. We had the cherry amaretto cheesecake and it was a true, homemade from the heart, delicious cheesecake. Our new go-to steak house!"

"It was my 77th Birthday and so I suggested this wonderful steakhouse. I cannot express the joy I felt from time I walked in to the time I walked out. I have enjoyed Keith Young, many times but it was my husband’s first time. The food was beyond awesome, while the staff was attentive to us all evening. Shout out to Sarah, our server, and to “AA6” our bar server. We WILL be back. Thank you for making my night so special. "We stopped by for dinner on the Sunday evening before Memorial Day. Most other restaurants were closed or had very long wait times. We ordered: Cream Cheese Rangoons: Delicious! A+ Egg Drop Soup: Pretty Good. B Orange Chicken: Surprising. A It was definitely not what we were expecting, but it was really good. It had a great orange and black pepper flavor and was breaded and deep fried like your typical orange chicken. Teriyaki Chicken Noodles: Good. B+ Pretty thin noodles, but tasted good and a very big portion. The chicken was very flavorful. Happy Family: Meh. C My wife kinda liked it, but it wasn't like the Happy Family dishes I've had in other restaurateurs. Sparce shrimp and meat, way too much baby corn. It came out on a super hot sizzling skillet, which was unexpected. Pros: Decent food and portions Sat us down immediately They were attentive (until we got our food) One of the staff, I think she was a manager or owner, was really nice to our 2 year old daughter who was obsessed with her. It was really sweet. Not too expensive for what you get Cons: Our food was brought out immediately after our appetizer. After we got our food they kinda forgot about us and we didn't get drink refills.. The atmosphere is a little old fashioned and the ambiance leaves much to be desired. Overall it was a good experience and I would recommend it."
