However, none of the dishes really stood out to me—their flavors didn't provide a wow factor, but I didn't have any complaints either. The food was served hot and was regularly replenished. The ambiance was cozy, enhanced by beautiful, well-photographed wallpaper that made you feel more connected to the local culture. "On Friday 25th October, we showed up in time for our dinner from 19:15 for 3 people. There was a sign, please wait for space. We waited and waited. No one came to greet us or the other people in front of the restaurant. We waited for over 15 minutes and were fairly frustrated and then we called Utsav and they said to come by. So we left. We never ate with Kumar s. Also, Kumar 's was quite empty and I really have no idea why nobody could welcome us. They seemed to be very understated. We had a nice dinner at Utsav in Vernon. I recommend Utsav."

"I recently left a review on Google Maps and gave my endorsement for this restaurant. I discovered this place through the HappyCow app, which specializes in vegan/vegetarian-friendly restaurants. My colleague and I dined here on Thursday, May 27th, at 8:00 pm. It was her first time trying Indian cuisine, so I was happy to introduce her to some new dishes. The restaurant had a diverse and appealing menu. As a vegan, I appreciated that they clearly marked their vegetarian options. When I asked our server for recommendations for vegan dishes, he suggested two items for me: the Chennai chili cauliflower and the channa masala. I never received my Chennai chili appetizer, but I was satisfied with the filling channa masala. My colleague also enjoyed her meal. It would be great if the restaurant offered a vegan menu, perhaps a simple printed page that they could provide to plant-based diners."

"This was my first time I experienced such a poor service at Kumar's. Not sure if it was because the waiters were new and under training. We were served rice and had to wait atleast 5-6 mins before curry was served. And this happened thrice on the same lunch!!! On the third occasion, we were served rice and the waiter went back to get curries. But after 3-4 mins, he came back with the plate of appalams; and then he had to go back again to get the curries. This time, my patience was tested and I had to shout at him. I do understand that Sunday afternoons are terribly busy at Kumar's, but this kind of service was totally unacceptable! I would suggest that Kumar's have the adequate no. of staff and the experienced ones, atleast on the days which are extremely busy so as to cater for the demand and pressure. Thank you."
