"We had driven past PawPaw’s several times this week and kept saying we should give it a try. So today we finally did and we are so happy we did. Five of us dropped in around 2:00 pm.The building and dining room is rustic, so it makes sense for this Louisiana country style fare. The server was really prompt and friendly. Everyone ordered various combinations of catfish and/or shrimp dinners. Here are the highlights:The batter on the catfish and shrimp was great—lightly coated, nicely seasoned and fried just enough. The french fries were hot, crispy, well seasoned and a fantastic alternative to a McDonald’s bag of short, stubby fries. The only downside side was that the combination platters only had two hush puppies and the smaller entrees only had one. The hush puppies were so good we ALL wanted more! Fried just long enough. Really tasty with just enough corn kernels in the batter. This place reinforces our approach of trying to find out where the locals eat wherever we go. If we get back to Pigeon Forge, we will be back. I definitely want to try the gumbo and desserts."
