"I say I never write such reviews, but our experience has forced me to post them. A huge transformation took place in Kimball's Kitchen. We tried this place about six years ago and the food was subpar, the service was shortage, and the atmosphere was full. In combination with the high prices we have never praised to return. But last night our children wanted to scratch a nearby pier, so my wife and I decided to take a drink at the bar. The bar and the dining room are beautiful Kimball 's probably has the most beautiful sound side location in all OBX. But because of our previous experience, a quick visit and a look at the water of the plan was. But when we looked around, we noticed that the whole mood of the place was different than before. The room was fun and excitement. The staff was tight. The menu was different and we could see from the food that the quality was significantly better. We had reservations at the Lifesaving Station on the other hand, which the team of Kimball's kindly helped, but Steve (Kimball's Manager) imagined and said he could sit with Kimball 's if we wanted to. We warned him that our children are coming from their crawling mission in sweatshirts. Steve didn't hesitate. No problem. We'd like you. So we decided to go. And we're glad. From the first course we could say that the food will be spectacular. That's it. Everything was amazing. At the end of the meal I said to Steve when he went through that our experience was night and day of the last time that we were there. He appreciated the comment and said that this season he had worked very hard to turn the restaurant into the great place it has now become. He then sat with us for 15 minutes and ruled us with great stories about his 25-year-old career in the food industry. What a great guy and talent Sanderling Resort is very happy to have him. So... a quick drink to see the best sunset view in OBX in a place we once wrote for ever, is now thanks to our experience last night, at the top of our list when we come back next year. Steve, Angel and Paul: Thank you for remembering one night and we hope you will see again next time."
