Lump crab cakes, lightly seasoned, served with a tangy remoulade sauce and fresh greens.

"A quick evaluation especially for the lounge at John Howie. It's a jewel like the main restaurant. Sometimes the lounge in Happy Hour is super packed and..."

"Certainly pricey, but for a nice night out with your significant other it is the right place and atmosphere to enjoy yourself. We had the mushroom soup, I had the seafood paella and hubby the steak, cocktails were some of the best, and creme brulee for dessert. Great service with friendly attentive people."

"This was our first time dining at this restaurant and we were intrigued by the beautiful view from the dining room that we saw online. We both ordered the Crab cakes and wedge salad. The food was fantastic and our waitress went above and beyond in taking care of our table. We will definitely be returning on our next trip."

"While the food here is good, we had issues with the service. Specifically we brought, as our guest of honor, an elderly relative who was very thin from chemotherapy. We had a table reserved way in advance. When we arrived we were seated right by an open door through which there was a huge cold breeze. Our cousin was so cold his teeth were chattering. We asked twice (practically begged) if there was any way we could be moved further into the dining room and were refused in a rather brusk fashion. We ate our dinner, which was quite expensive, but could not really enjoy it because we all were cold and the guest of honor was freezing. I could not understand such poor guest relations. I had had the reservation for two weeks so it was not that they had just fit us in. I was really rather shocked and have not been back."

"Ate here three nights in a row on business trip. All of the staff was friendly and genuine. Second night my wife was sick and they helped me pick some things she could eat and take back to room. Very helpful. Will stay and eat here again."

"Both couples thought the meal we received was excellent in preparation and presentation. The meals we ordered were wonderful, especially the French onion soup. My petite filet mignon was cooked to perfection with Bernaise sauce to enhance. Both couples will certainly return, since this was a dining experience, not just a normal dinner out. The ambiance with period decor also sets the Harris Ranch apart from the ordinary"

"I've been sitting here for my birthday dinner after I've been living next to this restaurant for over a year. In the summer they play obnoxily loud music, which is why I was first switched off, but I decided to give him a chance because it is supposed to be one of the best restaurants in Boise. On the "vegetarian" menu, her rice is actually made with chicken broth. We sat in the indoor and outdoor terrace in the area of traffic so that everyone hit by my partner on the back. We ordered the table side guacamole that came on a plastic car with Stale chips that knows how long they sit on the second shelf. The way was so narrow that he had to go aside constantly, as the other employees prepared tables with plates above the top of the guacamole. I guess if you use food in enough bovine lactate, people get the casomorphins out and think it's great. By default, everything is cooked in butter, so we had to ask for oil. The waitress was ambivalent when I told her that the food was too spicy, and she asked me what the word was stale when I complained about the chips that came with the $16 guacamole. They had no salsa or a topping that contained no cream. I would expect a $92 dinner that was almost untouched after two separate people for our review and sink to take home boxes that someone would have realized that it was a problem. The Portobello Fajitas had so much jalapeno they were boundlessly unpredictable. If 0 was an option to rate this place, I would, or just take if this app was overall."

"We selected this river front restaurant so we could bring our out of town guests out for a beautiful brunch with river views. Unfortunately, we pulled up to the restaurant, had to valet for the self park was not available due to construction. We then go into the restaurant to see a temporary 12 foot wall blocking the outdoor dining from the river. Apparently the Army Corps are working on the river so the wall completely blocks the construction. I did go back on the website to see what I missed and it was stated Under Construction in yellow and black; however, right above that message was click here to make a reservation, which I did and never looked at the construtcion message. I also did not see anything about a wall blocking the entire view. Very disappointing! We were quickly seated next to the plywood wall, sat down and the realized the table had not been cleaned. Stickly, dried crusty food, etc. Not a great experience. To top it off we where then charged $8 for valet parking. The website said something about good news, it is only $8 instead of $12...the last few times we have been to this restaurant we had the option to self park at no additional charge. Overall disappointing and embarrassing."

"Food is average, nothing stands out but the menu has variety and it's properly cooked so really not complaining. Service was strong- we had a delay upon arrival to be seated, but was informed of the delay (good communication by front desk team). The restaurant can be loud at times, but not much you can do about that. Enjoy the views and an overall fun experience every time we go."

"Slow service, food came out after about 2 hours and it was VERY dry, and a 20% tip is included. This was the worst service I’ve had in a while, so being forced to pay 20% was ridiculous. No apologies, concessions, or ANYTHING offered by staff. Not even reheating our cold, dry entrees. (Not raw seafood, by the way."

"One meal was over cooked but Palisades comped it and gave us a free shared dessert. Service was a bit slower than preferred and it was a bit dark. So dark you couldn’t read menu without using phone flash light which was distracting."

"Festive price menu for Easter..so elections were somewhat limited. The Hummer-Kreb-Dip was the highlight of the menu. The lobster bisque was also very good. The original rib with asparagus and mash was a bit boring and there was something lacking of interest. Service was excellent, especially on holiday. Overall, very nice evening. We enjoyed some of the better wine casting through the glass!"

"my friend brought her little dog, so I needed a restaurant where we could eat outside. the fat lady restaurant has met our expectations and surpassed. I had her Bert Water Cream Salad and Reuben sandwich. my friend had her French woof soup. our waiter was attentive and listened to my instructions when I reuben and serve my friends wowbel suppe. we had stayed to dessert; espresso parfait and cream bead. added with a cocktail, the register card was $ with lace. that was worth it, as we were there 2-1/2 hours."

"We are from Idaho and have enjoyed this restaurant once, so we thought we would try again, we knew it was a wait, not a problem until the young man asked if we were from the area, if we told him no, he said he could suggest other places to eat. Isn't our money good enough for you? Both my husband and I were in retail and I was also a server, if I ever had said or done that, I wouldn't have a job anymore. Yes we found a wonderful place to eat and will probably not try this restaurant again."
