"I visited San Francisco for the weekend and decided to try out Bloom and take a tour of the Chocolate Factory. I ordered a flight of cakes, iced chai, and an iced mocha. The service was excellent. The store's front entry was a bit noisy and busy, but Bloom provided a somewhat quiet space to enjoy some afternoon treats. The first cake we tried was cassis and peanut butter, which was a bit dry and tasted more like Hoisin sauce and peanut butter. The second cake slice, carrot and ginger, was pretty good. The last slice was chocolate with a small dollop of sour cream, which was very rich and the best of the three. The drinks were small, with the chai being good on its own but not pairing well with the cake flight due to conflicting spices. The iced mocha was a fantastic and refreshing chocolate treat on a warm afternoon. Overall, the experience was good, mainly due to the excellent factory tour we had with Christine. The tour elevated what would have otherwise been a pricey and underwhelming dining experience at Bloom. In summary, Bloom's dining experience is visually appealing, presented nicely in a pleasant atmosphere, but lacks in overall execution."
