"If you enter Cafe Tropical, you could say it was close to forever. It has many colorful hanging lanterns, but their colors begin to fade and it has a weathered look at it. However, the owner seems to love plants and the place is filled with many pot plants that improve the tropical vines of Cuba that they try to reconstruct. Based on other Yelp reviews, I ordered the Guava cheesecake. The cake costs $7. If you buy in the pane, it's like $2,50. The server will ask you if you want to cut it into 4, 6 or 8 slices. I asked about 8, since I wanted to share it with my dining room group. The Guava cheese cake is light, fluffy and moist. You can taste the cheese, but what surprises me is the very mild taste of the guava. Guava is usually one of the most powerful and aromatic of fruits, but the way it prepares here, it tasted more like strawberry than guava. And it was very red – not sure whether it placed food coloring on it, since guava usually does not remain so red when cooked. There are some people who do not like Guava because of their potency, but I think they will be pleasantly surprised by the mild taste. One of my eating mates had their Guava empanada. She said it wasn't as good as the Guava cheesecake. The crust coating was dry. It even looked dry. The filling had the same taste as the cheese cake. My other escort had the egg Croissant, which tasted good and fresh. I don't order coffee, but those at my table that had their morning java seemed happy with their drinks. Prices are relatively inexpensive. Most articles are only between $2 to $4. Interesting is the restaurant. By the rules of the health code, you must enter outside the restaurant and then enter the rear section, which serves as a community hall/forum. During our visit to a Sunday morning there was a kind of AA meeting, so it was a little embarrassing to wake up through their meeting to reach the relaxation room. But they seemed very accommodating. There are only street parking available, so is the best bet Sunday morning when metered parking is free."
