"we made a reservation for 7:30 on Friday night. the restaurant is quite small and when we went to the house, it was extremely loud. we told the host, we had a reservation and he went on the back to clean a table for 2 (without looking at a computer or a list to confirm our name). there were two empty tables in the front, so we asked if we could sit there. they said these tables were for reservations. I told him I had a reservation and they still said we couldn't sit there. they then brought us to the back of the restaurant to our table, which literally lay opposite the bathroom and directly in front of the kitchen. you could smell piniensole and other cleaning supplies from the table. the table was so far behind that the whole vibe was different from the rest of the restaurant. we asked if we could sit in the front (one more time) because we didn't want to sit in front of the bathroom and they offered us a place at the bar. mesa azteca should really understand that when people take the time to make a reservation for a special occasion and beautiful evening dinner, they are not sitting in the worst sitting throughout the restaurant and if they have not space to accommodate all their parachutes with an acceptable experience, then do not offer a certain capacity. the table in which they wanted to put us should be stored for a walk in customers or for no one if they really want their patrons to return. after the third attempt to move our places, we went out of the restaurant. meza azteca lost customers who made reservations that appeared on the time, and nicely asked to sit to save all the other tables for reservations that did not even appear (they were not there at the time when we arrived). I will never return and I recommend that other diners specify the seat settings when booking."

"Way over priced for only a spoonful of sour cream and placing a large order of $43 worth of food. I mean 5 dollars for ONE taco if you want cheese and sour cream on it. Not worth it. My pregnant ,taco craving wife ordered chicken tacos and was sad to come home to find out she couldn't eat them cause they were spicy, it would trigger her heart burn. The menu never said they would be spicy. We've been to many authentic Mexican restaurants and food trucks and never had chickentacos that came out spicy. I ordered chicken flautas and they were plain non spicy as they should be which were good btw. The limes were oddly dry, when I squeezed them no juice came out. But I was also disappointed with my Torta sandwichbread being stale and having to pay $2 extra for Oaxaca cheese when it comes included everywhere you go in Corona queens. Only 1 out of the 5 items I ordered were good. Service is a little slow, could be cause they are understaffed. Notworth going especially when you got to fight to find parking."

"Got takeout for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. I ordered the beef chimichangas. The pickup and ordering process was pretty smooth. I thought the price was a little steep for my dish, but in the end it was worth it because my chimichanga was stuffed with shredded meat. The dish was very well seasoned and I loved the side of guacamole and salsa that came with it. The tortilla was fried to a crisp perfection and paired really well with the soft interior. I saw that there was some pretty cute outdoor seating available."

"This place is a JOKE. They advertise being open until 10PM. I'm literally standing in front of the building at 9:07 and am told that you can not order food after 9:05. After pleading with the young lady that answered the phone and reiterating that is was still over 40 minutes until they're advertised closing time, I was told that there was nothing that she could do. How someone would refuse the sale of a 25 dollar burrito is shocking enough but being told that their kitchen is closed while I'm standing in front of their establishment watching a table be seated is amongst the most mind boggling things I've ever had to endure. Have walked past this place dozens of times and have always passed due to the outrageous prices but after this I'm glad they've never gotten any of my hard earned money."

"went to reposado for a drink and was thrilled to find they had a separate vegetarian menu with several interesting vegan options. we had the salsa and chips that were multicolored and very pretty, served in a cone with three different salsas, the chilitos rellenos, which were good and spicy, tacos de la calle, queso a la parrilla grilled marinated tofu with poblano sunflower sauce, grilled cactus salad, roasted kartoffel chips. everything was beautifully presented and the margaritas were wonderful. our waiter was vegan and very helpful and attentive and friendly. will definitely be back. overall palo urgently needs more veg friendly restaurants."

"Great neighborhood joint. Sangria selection is perfect for summer nights and the margarita is good too. Also accommodating when i requested flour tortillas (miss corn tortillas but can't be helped). Tried both the carnitas (smokey) and steak. Not carne asada, preparation was slightly different here. Both delicious but preferred the steak. Slightly confused by the coffee shop designation in the other reviews/photos. Map positioning looks like it's the same place. Maybe it's a day/night thing? I've only gone at night."

"Descanso was definitely another kind of food, or should I say a new experience for me. We went for LA Plancha dinner, which is a multi-course menu for you cooked at the table. You start with a soup or salad, fried rice and your duck. I chose the Rock Steak, my mother had the Chile Relleno and my grandmother had Pollo Maya. I also had the Gurke y Sal margarita. Every dish had so much taste, I can't wait to go back. Steak was beautiful and juicy. I had them with a slice of boiled cheese that just melted on the steak. It was amazing. The employees from the beginning to the end were very attentive. If you want a great experience for your money, it is worth it. Check out their website for weekly specials. You even have Taco Tuesdays."

"I made a reservation for my anniversary, and they didn 't actually reserve... anything. It might as well have been a walk-in. When I got there, all of the good tables were taken, they handed us paper menus and said sit anywhere. I said I had a reservation and they just said ok. The only benefit my reservation served was to THEM, as if I would have cancelled they would have auto charged me a $20 fee."
