"Been stopping in for years but have never written about my love for Alleva until now. I don’t want to waste my breath of the greedy landlord working to destroy an NYC landmark but now more than ever everyone should support the classic small NYC businesses that make this city special. What’s so good about Alleva?? Everything! It’s the family vibe. It’s the classic NYC feel. And of course…the food! Something about the fresh ricotta and fresh mozzarella balls just hit differently. In our mass produced world, finding gems that are homemade with love, you just feel and taste the difference. Aside from these items you must try the Italian Mac and Cheese, the Penne alla Vodka, the stuffed artichoke…and the sandwiches!!! I could go on and on but the point is…we need to protect places like this, especially when they still produce such quality goods that I imagine they did 100+ years ago. I will be back asap to stock up on more and I hope we all come together to let Alleva live!!!"

"Love this place. We were on the LiE and needed a small bite. Looked for a place close to 495. KK is 3 blocks from the highway. And I promise it has what you want to eat: pizza, sushi, roasted veg, 4 kinds of soup, pasta, meatballs, salads, every sando on earth, and much more. Vast counter cases contain a cornucopia of choices. You point, you get, you eat. No wait staff. Just what we wanted. Oh, everything was delizioso and fresh as hades."

"Bagels are five star. The rest of this joint is disgusting. Someone please post pictures of filth and disrepair and contact the health department immediately!Omg did those poppy seeds on my bagel just move? Did I just see glade plug-ins being used to hide the hideous smell of sewage at the entrance? When was the last health inspection of this filthy place done where the health inspector wasn’t bribed to get a good score?Despite the best bagels in Georgia, this place is located in a should be condemned trailer diner in total disrepair. The rude help put no effort into keeping it clean and the owners don’t spend a dime to maintain it. Even a simple fresh coat of paint to cover chair marks against the wall, cleaning air conditioning vents and sweeping the floor are too expensive for the owners. Did I mention no pricing on the menu because of “changing prices due to inflation” and the cheapness of owners to print or change menus? It would just be another item needed to be cleaned by inept teenage boys who sweep water and liquid spills with a nasty broom instead of a mop."

"generally good eating and friendly staff, but the waiting time is incredible. sadly crossed this from my places to eat (although it is very close) because wait over 40 minutes for a single sandwich when it was a person before me too much. When I came home, the Reuben sandwich was not even grilled. I'm disappointed."

"This little nugget in downtown Smithfield is not missing! Tired of fast food? Go in, go to the counter and the menu is written behind it I got the reubs (I chose mustard over Russian dressing) and the combo that contains a drink and a bag of chips. My other half got an Italian velvet but he would suggest olive oil vinegar with salt and pepper instead of the Mayo that came on it. But either it was super solid sandwiches over the board!"

"Decided to try this place after my go to (Eli's sadly closed got taken over by Bagel Nook. (Hate when instagramableness beats quality authenticity in the business game. Well anyway I tried this place because it was close by seemed to be a classic deli, which I trusted for bagels. The bagels are pretty good: large, they don't skimp on the cream cheese, they're a great price!! They also have a few pastries, sandwiches, soup, snacks, a variety of drinks. I def want to try a sandwich from them one day. There's always customers inside the 2 people who work the counter (I think they might be the owners? are genuinely kind I always see them making conversation with their patrons. Love when a business tries to build a community. There's also a cute seating area outside. The only thing is that they seem to run out of bagels quickly, even on weekdays. I've been there twice now around noon they didn't have a regular everything bagel (which is fine I just go for a whole wheat everything but that's something to note... Make sure you get there early, sorry to all the not morning people! I think this will be my new go-to bagel spot, even though I'll miss my Jewish bagels New York bagels will fill the whole in my heart."
