"We came to this restaurant with high expectations it was glowingly recommended to us from a friend. Fortunately, it did not disappoint. We had brunch here, and the salmon eggs benedict on a croissant I had was flawless perfectly liquid oozing poached eggs and amazing hollandaise sauce were paired with smoked salmon all on a light and tasty croissant. Possibly the most satisfying Benedict brunch item I've ever had; definitely the best in recent memory.Every restaurant should have good food though, so good food alone is not enough to get 5 stars. You can see my rating, and this place gets 5 stars from me because I think the inventive and standout cocktails are what make this place special. I've included a picture of the cocktail menu for reference. While I think these drinks could use better names, they certainly deliver where it matters taste and overall enjoyment of drinking. I got the Lush, Airy, #FF0000, and the Pellucid.I started with the Lush, whose name really doesn't seem to fit the drink. The Lush is actually a brilliant combination of Mezcal and chilled coffee. It's also sweeter than the ingredients list suggests if you've ever had thai iced coffee with condensed milk, it's kind of like that, but was not excessively sweet like most thai iced coffees are. I've never encountered Mezcal and coffee in a cocktail before, but it makes sense if you think about it smokiness from the Mezcal combines well with deep coffee flavor, and this thing smelled GREAT.The second drink I got was the Airy again I think improperly named, because this was the weirdest **** Mary I've ever had. I encourage you to read the ingredients listed in my picture, and once you've finished reading your mental thought will be Wow that sounds like a strange drink (it also has unlisted thai chili powder thrown in as well). I personally don't like **** marys, but I ordered this out of morbid curiousity. I can't say I liked this cocktail, but I didn't dislike it either again, I don't like **** marys in general so I don't think this drink can be written off simply because it wasn't my thing. It was definitely a more interesting experience than most **** marys, and if you are a **** mary enthusiast I'm sure it's worth your time and money to give this one a shot, though it won’t change your mind about BMs if you already don’t like them. The third cocktail I had was the FF0000, which is a bitter style cocktail. I quite like bitter cocktails, and this one tasted great, although it was the least unique of the four drinks I got. I don't have much to say about it, other than if you like bitter style cocktails, you will enjoy this one.The final drink I had, the Pellucid, and I almost skipped it because I had already had three drinks. But it was the middle of the day, I didn't have to drive, and so I threw caution to the wind and ordered it to finish my stay at Chanson De Salon. Boy am I glad I did, because the Pellucid is an absolutely phenomenal drink. If you look at its ingredients, it's at its core a Gin Tonic, but it’s got Aloe Vera, Elderflower, and although it’s not listed I’m certain there’s some kind of cucumber flavor or essence in it. Unfortunately it’s the middle of March as I’m writing this, but I’m certain that on a hot summer day, the mere act of breathing in the scent of this drink would cool you down and refresh you. It really does smell that good, and so if you like Gin and Tonics you really owe it to yourself to try this drink out. If you DON’T like Gin and Tonics, this could actually wind up changing your mind about them, I think. In summary, come here if you want great cocktails with your meal. I didn’t have enough food to confidently say that most food items on the menu are amazing, but if they are of the quality of my brunch salmon eggs benedict, you won’t be disappointed with the food either."

"This review is over 3 months late, but I needed to register the fabulous experience my husband and I had with Café Patoro. I was getting married in April and was looking for a café or bakery in NY that could make Brazilian desserts for my wedding when I stumbled upon Café Patoro's website after a search. My husband and I decided to visit their café and try the food and after loving their brigadeiro, and their cake I emailed them to inquire about catering the desserts for our wedding. Ah La, the owner was great at getting back to me and we set up a date to meet and discuss options. When we met, she impressed me beyond words. Not only she had a full list of traditional Brazilian desserts, but she had detailed descriptions of what each one was made of and would give us comments about how easy it is to get certain ingredients here and sometimes what substitutions she recommended. My husband and I left with a full list of desserts to choose from and all the possible combinations that we could put together for our wedding. We then gave her our selection and scheduled the tasting. As I had expected, the tasting was wonderful and she was even able to pull off the Bem-Casados that we had requested as our wedding favors. We locked our options after the tasting and from there Ah La took care of every single detail of the preparation and the delivery. She handled everything, from the little cup holders, the wrappings, she even made the instructions with step-by-step on how to set up our passion fruit parfait for our Caterer. Ah La's sense of professionalism and business is unbelievable. She pays attention to every detail and puts her heart into making it the best. On the wedding day, the desserts were a huge success! Everyone loved it and even the non-Brazilians were raving about how wonderful and fun was to taste a dessert options so unique and delicious. And the Bem-Casados came out wonderful. I had so many guests telling me how impressed they were with it. I have to say that those were probably the best ones I've ever had. Working with Ah La and Café Patoro for our wedding was an amazing experience, even though it was the first time she was catering some of the desserts on our list, I had no doubt that she was going to do a great job and that it would come out great. Her professionalism and being on top of her business, made the process fun and seamless. I cannot thank them enough for their wonderful service and the beyond amazing quality of desserts. Ah La and her team made the dessert vision for our wedding become a reality!! :"
