"The restaurant smelled bad, like old wet cloths. Although I had a reservation, I stood at a check-in desk for 9 mins, without anyone recognizing me. The waitress’s hair was all over her head. Her black shirt was untucked. She reached over my drinks twice. She demanded to know how much “tip will be applied” when I told her it was my niece’s birthday and not to bring the check to the table. While I was saying Happy Birthday to my niece and presenting her with a family archive from my great-grandmother the waitress came to the table and interrupted and demanded to know if we were ready to order. When I asked her to give us a moment she responded, “this is the second time you have said that”. The waitress failed to get my niece’s order correct—-on her birthday😢😢😢. The broccoli I ordered had about 4 pounds of sticky, wax-like cheddar cheese on them. I ordered Swiss cheese. The waitress brought out a slice of cake with a cigarette lighter to light the candle and because she was not watching her actions she stuck the lighter into the cake and neared icing on it and still decided to lite the candle and give it to my niece………My tab after all this was $90.50……., she had earlier demanded the tip amount and I had said 20%. She tipped herself $18. 10……It should have been $19 flat. I guess her math skills are as bad as EVERYTHING with this restaurant. NEVER AGAIN !!! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. This restaurant has a systematic problem with dining excellence."

"Genuine feedback: I hope my honesty won't result in being barred from sharing my experience. Upon visiting this establishment, my initial expectations weren't met. With a background rooted in a rich seafood culture, I anticipated a culinary journey that resonated with my upbringing. However, what I encountered fell short. While the fried fish was commendable, boasting a crisp exterior and tender interior, the other offerings left much to be desired. The shrimp, unfortunately, lacked the texture and succulence one expects, being flattened and melded with the batter. This resulted in a uniform consistency reminiscent of a hamburger patty, rather than the distinct bite of fresh shrimp. Moreover, the oysters were overshadowed by an excessive coating of batter, diminishing their delicate flavor and rendering them almost unrecognizable amidst the breadcrumbs. On a brighter note, the hush puppies offered a unique take on the classic, and the green beans and mushrooms were a delightful surprise, showcasing culinary skill and attention to detail. In terms of service, I must commend the staff for their exemplary customer care, particularly during peak hours when wait times were inevitable. However, despite the warm welcome and efficient service, the overall dining experience left much to be desired. In essence, this establishment felt akin to a larger-scale version of Long John Silver's, catering more to family-oriented dining than to those seeking an authentic seafood experience. The discrepancy between the inviting interior and the mismatched exterior was particularly notable, giving off a misleading impression to passersby. While the food quality leaned towards the commercial end of the spectrum, I remain open-minded and willing to revisit in the future, in the hopes of experiencing an improvement in both culinary execution and overall ambiance."

"I brought my granddaughters here for a post-movie treat. It was my youngest granddaughter's birthday and she wanted macarons. I typically pay anywhere between $2.25 and $2.60 for a macaron, but these were on the higher end at $2.90 per cookie. I was quite alright with the price, as macarons are typically an occasional treat. Plus, I can only image what retail spaces cost in Oak Brook Center, and as I small business owner, I get it. Le Macaron French Pastries offered a wonderful variety of flavors including birthday cake which the birthday girl chose. My oldest grand-girl chose red velvet and I chose mango-passionfruit. I really wanted to love the desserts, as I live near Sugar Fixe (Oak Park) and Vanilla (French Market/Chicago) and both locations offer wonderfully flavored macarons. However, the macarons here didn't tickle my taste buds. The texture was perfect...light and airy, but the filling lacked flavor. Don't get me wrong, the filling was plentiful and more than I usually get from other bakeries, but I would have preferred a more flavorful filling over quantity. Although I didn't have the experience I would have liked, the shop owner (so very sweet and accommodating) certainly made up for it. I don't remember her name, but I recall her saying she was from Normandy, France. Customer service means everything to me, so I'd be happy to return to try the raspberry or rose macaron, and maybe the fruit jelly candies and gelato."
