"I had made a reservation for my brothers birthday with the parents and his wife. Our server didn’t mention anything about it. The service was very slow. It took a crazy long time to get our drinks and our server, while nice, didn’t check on us very often. We had wanted more drinks and dessert and that took a minute and then when ready for the check we waited almost 30 minutes. At this point the restaurant was pretty empty so I’m not sure what was going on. The menu offerings were very limited and very few veggie or fish options (no salmon, shrimp, pasta, etc). There was a very bright light above the table that was blinding. The manager turned it down a bit but it was still very distracting. It gave me quite a headache. The food overall was cooked well and tasted good. The cocktails and wine were also good. I expected a little more overall for the price."

Something to consider is to provide something special for folks in that area since there was a piano on the stage you could have offered live background music to improve the ambience. "This restaurant is a hidden jewel in Atlanta. We were in Atlanta for the OU/LSU playoff game and found this restaurant had a time slot after the game. We made the reservation through Open Table. The food was excellent and the service was very good. Sam, our server, was very friendly, attentive and helpful. After our trip, we all rated this our favorite meal. The wine selection is very good and there is free valet parking. I would highly recommend this hidden jewel when visiting Atlanta. The fish special was red snapper and was excellent."

"I go here often, and want to support their business and it 's with a heavy heart and even heavier stomach I have to say that their food is alright but I would avoid them completely on sundays, during any busy time or near closing. Every time I order food during one of these times my order is either wrong, undercooked/messed up or i literally get food poisoning (im up at 4 am completely sick from their food as i write this. One time my farmer 's mac and cheese advertised with pulled pork and caramelized onions came with raw onion (gross and a giant piece of gristle pork in the middle. I 've gotten multiple pork burritos that have made me sick, and I 've had quite a few burgers that were so undercooked i had to spit my bite out and throw the entire thing away at home after paying. I now exclusively order food from here medium well/well done because if you don 't they will serve you food that 's almost cold inside. Even my well done burger was almost too rare to eat. I understand that it 's a fad to have rare meat but when someone says MEDIUM they don 't want RARE. It 's not even safe to consume ground beef or pork that 's undercooked and yet it 's served to me constantly from this restaruant after paying 20 or so bucks. I 've had to almost completely stop ordering chicken or bacon because i 've gotten raw bacon numerous times and either undercooked or woody chicken EVERY TIME. I don ' 't understand how the quality control can be so poor. I 've been eating here consistently for years and it 's baffling. I can only hope this feedback will get whatever needs to be gotten in line because if I get sick again i am changing this review to say avoid at all costs. As it is, take it from someone who goes here often the food is a GAMBLE. I hate to have to say that but that 's my experience. All the wait staff are great though, the service has been good every time i 've been there but the kitchen either needs someone new in charge or better safety standards because it 's not reasonable to get food poisoning this much from a restaruant. The tables are very grimy and sticky constantly also, i don 't think it 's from a lack of cleaning because i always see the wait staff scrubbing away at the tables before people sit down. The whole restaruant kind of has a dirty feel to it and not in a rustic folksy way, more like a did the health inspector actually do their job? kind of way. *EDIT* i forgot that if you get side portions of certain sides (cole slaw for example they try to give you a tiny plastic container of cole slaw (maybe 2 bites total for 3.50. every time i 've caught it, i 've asked them for an actual appropriate amount of a side, but i HAVEN 'T caught it many times because i shouldn 't have to check to make sure my food is correct EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. *edit 2* the owner responded and said they moved on from their last kitchen manager 4 hours ago, but the bad food i ate was 12 hours ago so unless they moved on this morning i find this highly suspect"

"My wife and I had reservations and we were seated very promptly. (I strongly suggest reservations) The atmosphere was nice, and the low lit brick and mortar restaurant puts you in a relaxing chill mood. Our server Colin was great. He explained the menu as far as small plates entrees as well as the specials for the night. As we looked over the menu, the first thing I noticed was the fact that it was so different from our previous visit. That in itself was a very welcomed thing. I had a lot of choices to make, from the burgers to the steak dinner. They have 3 choices of salads, it would be nice to see M R give a option of adding a protein to your salad. Of course, at an additional cost. Also it would be nice if they offer a seafood dish, even if it's just salmon. We decided to order the chips and dip the steak dinner. The food was very good, and I was totally satisfied. We shared an apple tart ice cream for dessert. The drinks were refreshing, but different than what I was expecting. From the cocktail menu we ordered the Wild Heart the Odessey Oracle. To me the drinks were more showy than tasty, but it could just be me. I am more of a scotch drinker anyways. I can say I will be back, hopefully they tweak the menu some to accommodate a more versital type of eating."

"We reserved outdoor seating just to find that it wasn’t available. We were seated at 12:00 but no one came to our table for over 30 minutes so we went to the bar thinking we would get better service. The bartender told my date he would taken care of us at the table so we went back there. He took our order where I also asked for 2 waters as my date had a headache and wanted to take Tylenol. He never brought it. Midway through our food I was sure he would come check to make sure everything was okay. He did not. I went up to the bar to ask for the water again and was waiting. With an attitude, the bartender told me he would bring them over. To our surprised, he did. After he saw we had finished our meal, he cleared the table and did not come back for another 30 minutes. We weren’t far away and were in direct eyesight but neither him or any of the other employees seemed interested in taking care of us. It wasn’t until I asked to see a manager that the bartender came to offer us the check. When the manager did come over, I was surprised to see that he was on the floor while all of this was happening earlier!! You would think the manager would make the rounds to endure the guests are happy. But everything from beginning to end was terrible. He eventually took care of the food but I will never forget 2 hours I had to spend on my birthday weekend trying to get a drink, some water, and an entree. To say I’m thoroughly disappointed is understatement. I really hope the entire staff that was there yesterday can learn from this but I’ll never know because I will not be returning."

"First time eating at this restaurant. The place and food was ok but not enough to ever go back honestly. It was hot so most of us stuck with a glass of water as far as drinks were concerned. "This visit was hit and miss. We arrived at night and couldn’t find the parking lot. We didn’t see any signs, and it was even hard to find the door to the building. Our waitress was great. The side of mashed potato came out completely cold. When we alerted our waitress, she was very apologetic and took it back. When it reappeared, it was unfortunately slightly warmer but not much. I had the fish tacos, which was delicious, except that one was hot and the other two were lukewarm. Other than that, our other dishes were good."

"Mar Vista Dockside is our new favorite waterfront dining experience in Sarasota. My family had a fantastic Sunday afternoon-early dinner to end the long Thanksgiving weekend. We really lucked out by getting one of the tables right at the waters edge. I got my seasonal Stone Crab fix, which were perfectly cracked, cold and delicious. My wife had the crab cakes, which dare I say were better than any of the Crab Cakes I’ve had on several trips to Baltimore. Lots of crab and very little filler. My son had the Tuna Poke Bowl which was equally outstanding. The atmosphere under the trees along the water was just what we had been craving! Great service, food and atmosphere. We can’t wait to dine here again!"
