"We did not have a good experience at Scarlet Oak. The service was extremely poor, starting with us waiting over 15 minutes for our waiter to initially approach us, to our order (sushi) being wrong, to us having to actively search out our server each time we needed him, including to get the check. We did not see him for about an hour from when we ordered until we finally tracked him down to get another drink and the check. They did not seem to be understaffed, it seemed to be mismanaged. For instance, no one was really working the check in desk, but there were always one or two workers milling about around it. They had runners for the food, but they didn’t seem to be familiar with the orders and the server never came by to see if we needed anything. The other issue is that the outdoor seating was overrun with mosquitos. It’s also jammed with plants that I believe were meant to provide buffers between guests, but are just contributing to that problem and are dying. This was probably the worst restaurant experience we’ve had post-pandemic."
